I'll tell you the same thinh i tell everyone......Build one. Do it before you can't anymore.

 

No garage. I fab all my stuff at work right now. Will have a garage in a month or so. Closing on a house with a big ass garage.

 

Not looking good at all folks. I know one of you said you have a canopy but that is't going to work. My driveway is a wind tunnel even when there is no wind. Might want to reschedule for next weekend.

 

I'd either say try for Sunday or next weekend, tomorrow is going to be a downpour most likely.

 

This. is. correct. Prices for parts are cheaper than ever and the AR15/10s that I have built are way more accurate AND CHEAPER than my Colt. If you want to get real fancy get an 80% complete lower and drill it out yourself... yay for ghost guns.

 

I say just get an empty lower, go through the paper work, buy yourself a parts kit, a set of punches, some needle nose pliers, and a small brass hammer. Then buy an upper of your choosing...that way you don't have to worry about buying specialty tools and getting the headspace just right

 

That's definitely the easier way to do it and I totally agree with buying an upper over building one. I just mentioned the 80% if you are handy with a CNC.

 

I'd like to try an %80 but I have 0 experience in that department and am afraid i would fuck it up

 

Already have, I have a second one waiting to be built too. I love my AR-15.
