    He's a veteran defenseman. He had one of his better seasons in 2014-15. He has expressed that he wants to stay in Anaheim and would take less money to make it happe. He's still producing as good if not better than the other defenseman. The only reason he wont come back is if Anaheim has to free up room for Kesler next year.

    I heard they were calling about Kessel and/or Bozak at one point. I did read a few articles yesterday though that suggested the Leafs may let Babcock have a crack at working with Kessel and Phaneuf, especially Phaneuf, before making a decision to move either. I doubt there are many teams that want Kessels contract anyways. He's paid fine for now, but by year 8 someone is going to regret that contract in every sense.
