I know right. That was the biggest deal killer for me when I looked at trucks a few years back. But come time to sell my Dodge, I knew I was getting a Taco. :bananadance:

I think all done up the chevy looks pretty decent, but an off the rack model vs say a trd, no comparison.

Their version of the DC long bed just doesn't look proportionate to the rest of the truck. It just looks weird when looking at it from the side. To SUV like.

Unless you've also got a Delorean, you're in for a bad time. Jeep hasn't made a model worth a shit since the CJ-5 (you can argue is the CJ-7 is acceptable, I'd allow that)

I guess you haven't gone wheeling with a moderately modified TJ... Had a 2005 Rubicon w/ chromoly shafts, 4" longarm and 35" tires and it went everywhere without a problem. Lift, tires, armor only ran about $5,000 more than a stock jeep and I can't say I could build a Tacoma that would perform as well with only $5,000.

I was just saying I'd rather not tear up my truck for offroad use. I'd rather leave offroad duty to a vehicle with a solid axle.

When the 2016 comes out with that diesel I am going to seriously consider trading in my taco. 190 hp and 379 lb of torque off the lot. With a decent tune you could easily hit 230 ish hp and 400+ lb. it has definitely got me interested.

    Um, they are the same...

Much less? You can load a limited taco up pretty dang close and they won't let you deal. Not to mention the amount of tech, features and other nic nacks not on the Taco.

Ouch, guess that is a fair description of the Tacoma.

Although it doesn't look very good, that air dam on the front of the Cheby helps fuel mileage.

they might be the same but the colorado doesnt carry the look as well, the wheel arches should be more defined like they are on the canyon and on the tacoma for that matter.

I have a friend who bought one, the air dam is removable and does a lot for the looks. I prefer the Chevy and GMC to the 2016 Tacoma, maybe it will look better in person.

The reason being that most 4x4 stock should be able to do lite water crossing. In the case of the Tacoma with the intake being in the wheel well you tend to get water into the engine. This is true on both first gen and second. First gen comes through the driver side right behind the head light housing which looked odd to me, the second gen comes through passenger wheel well. I would like to reiterate the term lite. I am not talking about crossing the Nile but about 6" to maybe a foot of water.
