Idk how you guys can go so long without washing your vehicle. I hope it's garaged kept most of the time. I wash my truck at least once a week, if not every other week.

The other day I took my truck to a do it yourself wash with a pressure washer nozzle and took my bucket, soap and sponge. Since I can't wash at home I'll wash it at a do it yourself wash and take my time :) I hate using their brushes and cheap soap.

I use a spray nozzle and try to wash it every other week. I'm in the palm springs area and we're really aren't in a drought down here. I mean how can we be in a drought if this area never gets rain, doesn't have a river/lake/reservoir supplying it, and gets it water from an aquifer that's being filled faster than its being used..... CA politics are BS

The agency replenishes the groundwater with water from the State Water Project [In other words from Whiskeytown and Oroville, down the Sacramento River, into the Delta, Pumped out of the Delta at Tracy, and into the California aqueduct, over the Tehachapis, and into Socal]. Because there is no direct pipeline from the SWP to Palm Springs, the agency exchanges water with Metropolitan Water District (of Los Angeles). Replenishment water comes from the Colorado River Aqueduct. DWA uses the water from two connections to fill recharge basins, located at Whitewater and Mission Creek.

I know that the whitewater replenishment lakes east of palm springs to fill the coachella valley aqueduct. how else would the aqueduct get refilled... But they have been putting so much water into it that its actually coming out of the ground in certain places in the lower valley (mecca, salton sea...) My Dad works for the CVWD and he said they had a crew out measuring levels in the lower valley. In one of the locations they measured, after drilling 100 yrds down to get to the aqueduct, they had to install a pipe 10 ft above ground level in order to stop water from free flowing out.

All I'm saying is that the Coachella Valley, where I live, is not at all hurting for water like the majority of California. But yet we have to abide to the same set of law set by the governor... They want us to cut 35% of our water usage, when compared to the previous year, or else we will get fined. But if we do that then the water districts won't be earning enough $$$ so to compensate they will raise the price of water. So we will all be using less water but will be paying the same if not more per month... sounds like crap to me..

When we had a car washing ban I used two gallons of distilled water ( 99 cents ) and Quick and Easy Wash (no rinse) Does a good job. I use it or Optimum No Rinse now for all my truck washing. When the dick neighbor called the code officer, he just shook his head when I showed him the distilled water bottles.

I try not to wash my truck at home anyways because I have such hard water where I live, it leaves water spots like crazy.

I feel so bad...so my neighbor washes his cars like religiously every weekend, and they look amazing (im jealous), and the other day I noticed the back yard was looking a little yellow, so I figured I'd turn my sprinkler system on for a week and get the grass some water...totally forgot the system controlled the front yard as well....when I left for work the next morning, neighbors mustang is covered in hard water spots. I turned the system back off and haven't talked to him in a couple weeks lol

So the city is finally allowing us to wash our vehicles at home now. We only get 2 days out of the week to water lawn and or wash vehicle.

I still have grass even by following the rules water 2 time a week. I pull whatever vehicle up on the lawn and wash it using a nozzle. I have a time on the system so it gets watered at 2 or 3 in the morning. No one has complained sofa but with the raid this winter It won't be a big problem next summer. Having 3 vehicles I do take them to car washes more than washing them at home.
