What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

I do agree that with the sway on you could essentially lock the truck into a corner and continue through it. Your body roll would feel more stable, I know this because I used to do it on on/off ramps with my truck. But personally I much rather have better articulation offroad rather than be able to do that on road. If I want to corner hard I have my motorcycle for that.

 

Getting a new starter installed at the dealership with its regular maintenance.

 

I have a nice one from MG to install but I'm kinda stalled til my flex head rachet arrives. I cant seem to reach the mounting bolts without it.

 

So I've needed to replace my a/c compressor for a while, they gave me the part
# 88310-04060-84 for like $500
Would this work in the same case, just being sure.

Cut my rear diff breather tube a little shorter, emptied the MC a few times and filled with new brake fluid, put hose clamps on the ends of my ITRs for the boots.

All packed up and ready to leave to go wheeling!

 

What's the difference between that one and OEM? Mine gave out for 2 days straight, took some persistence to get it to start up.

 

I just started a new thread about it in the first gen forum with pics and specs. I will post more when I do the install.

Next week will be a full tune up with some overdue parts, I have 201k miles and havent replaced my 02 sensors in 90k miles, Will be replacing all fluids from the front diff all the way to rear diff, Spark plugs and greasing all areas that I can.

My cats and exhaust are less than a year old or so and I am trying to pin down my extra light driving vibrations, When in neutral they are not there so its not the wheels.

 

Flushed brake fluid. Old was dark and gross. In the doing I discovered the bleeder valve on the front driver seems a bit corroded, and looking at the boots for the pistons they could use changing. So, going to be doing a complete caliper overhaul soon. Might as well grind them down and paint them when I am at it.
