Wound up going with the Core 15. It may run flawlessly, if it gives problems I'll probably build something. No big deal. Its just money.

You'll end up changing everything. I built my rifle the way I wanted it the first time and I still change things.

Or worse yet, you'll end up building several so you can try out new stuff without having to mess with your "go-to" rifle. Don't ask me how I know! :anonymous:

I must've looked at two dozen uppers and lowers, and I keep coming back to the simple Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22 Performance. It'll pay for itself in 1500 rounds of .22LR, and I won't have to worry about replacing a gas tube.

probably.. do people even replace their upper and lowers? I feel like then you could build a separate rifle.

If I buy or build an upper, it ends up being a new rifle. Hell, I have an extra set of hand guards, that means its time to build a new rifle.

All these Independence Day sales are making me think about ordering the parts to finish my stripped lower and send off a tax stamp for a 300 blk SBR.

That looks awesome. Is this is as easy as the YouTube vidoes/tutorials make it out to be?

Took the 458 Socom out for more function testing of the new X-Fire bullet. Using H110 powder I got up to 2145 FPS with the 220 grain X-Fire bullet. Lot's of muzzle flash as the image shows. Link is to the slow motion video that the image came from. Rail mounted brass catcher works great in the video and you can see the Mako GL-Shock stock do its thing too, the spring tube compresses into the stock before my shoulder gets pushed back.

Contemplating what I want to do next for my weapons system (AR based anyway).
I currently have one stripped lower, a stripped upper with parts kit, and a Hoque free float tube.
I also have a 18" 1-8 twist HBAR (223 wylde) barrel sitting around but for now my 6.8 upper has the longer range stuff covered (And I want to get a 308 bolt action for true range/power).

Should I send off for a tax stamp for a SBR (5.56 I think, PDW and truck gun), form 1 a suppressor (I don't know that I have the skills or time to develop a suppressor), or build my stripped lower and then go from there?

I currently have a complete lower, complete 16" 5.56 (Middy gas, MBUS rear) and a complete 16" 6.8 SPC (Middy Gas, front and rear MBUS, FF hand guard).
My 6.8 upper is currently what stays on the lower because i have my TLR1 attached to the rail for when things go bump in the night.
