I would have moved on to someplace else.
I do have one door ding and scratch in mine, both my fault.
I was pissed about both, plan to get the ding taken out, the scratch is there to stay.

For some, a vehicle is nothing more than transportation and they could care less about theirs or others.

    Safety cones...

That's a great idea! Although, some tard would probably run over them, just to park next to you...

Here's a little story most parents can appreciate...

My daughter was at a concert in LA with her good friend who was a good friend of the performer. They were visiting backstage after the concert and my daughter goes back outside to get a drink. She walks by a mother who had brought her young teenage daughter to the concert for her birthday. The daughter was giving the mom a hard time about something and being a brat. My daughter goes up to the mom and tells her she was once like that too at that age and she'll get over it.

As my daughter is telling me this, I'm thing that was a nice thing to say and that was it.

The rest of the story is my daughter goes back backstage, comes back out a few minutes later, goes up to the mom and tells them to follow her, takes them backstage to meet the guy who wished her a happy birthday, talked with her and posed for pics. Just freaked the girl out and made the mom's coolness factor skyrocket with her. I think the mom was the more thankful one.

Nothing profound, just a little thing that didn't need to be done but I think it was cool that my daughter thought to tweak someone's lives like that in a good way.

Of course, Ed Sheeran deserves a little credit too.

    Very nice.

I think there are still a lot of really good, nice people out there. Those ready and willing to do the right thing.

Unfortunately, those actions are not politically correct in today's climate (or agenda) so they don't get publicized.

I was raised to do the right thing, and I will continue to do the right thing, even though today's "society" may not accept/appreciate it.

And no, I've never been called politically correct.

I have to watch where and how I park all the time around here - folks are just stupid and don't care about other people's shit . I've turned in 5 idiots that dinged the snot out of someone's car/truck just by calling the cops and giving them the cell picture of their plate . Got a thank you note from 2 of the owners of said damaged vehicles . If I'm going to any local places that have a history of dings - I drive the Land Cruiser and dare them to ding that fukn tank . Several have tried and few even scratched it a bit - but they paid the price badly .

Every couple days I find a new paint scuff or door ding (not the TW member) on my truck. At this point, I've given up. I am so careful with where I park and it doesn't seem to help. Now I putting armor all over it for the trails and parking lot assholes.

So, I'm at the Toyo dealership waiting by my truck. Second oil change, busy day, and I'm waiting for my service adviser. The service area is pretty big so everyone stands by the vehicles until the adviser comes to talk to you, or the runners drop off your vehicle. I'm a bit early, so I get out and lean on the tailgate while I wait. I'm looking over the service area when I feel the truck shift a bit. I scan to my right and there is a peanut shaped goomba in shorts leaning on the other side of my tailgate. I give him the "did I just spend thousands on this truck, so your stupid arse could lean on it" look, but he just stares idiotically ahead. I'm considering pushing him in front of the next vehicle that drives through, but my service advisor walks up and asks him if he is Mr Novak. He starts mumbling about waiting for his Prius. She looks at my truck and then looks back at him with her best "that isn't a Prius, moron" look, and he mumbles some more and wanders away. I chuckle and introduce myself to her. Still bugs me, I felt like my truck was soiled by his leaf-munching backside. WTF is wrong with people?

Second story, long ago, and back when I drove a Mitsubishi Eclipse. I parked in a hospital employee parking garage; and my favorite spot was up against one of the pillars on the top floor. I would tuck the car in so tight that you couldn't fit a cat between the passenger door and the wall. Plenty of room for the other person to swing their doors.
Well, no, not if that person is a arse. One day, I go to the car and there is a huge Cadillac parked halfway into my space and a big dent in my driver's door. The hospital had elderly volunteers, so of course they were allowed free range of the employee parking garage. I had seen this crappy car around the garage, but I figured I was safe on the top floor.
I decided right there and then, I was going to key that caddy. I pulled out my keys, but noticed that the car was already full of chips and scratches. So, I decided a nice dent would be in order. I held my car key in my fist, and just swung my arm into the Caddy's side as I opened my own door. To the casual observer, this would have looked and sounded like I was getting in my car. I started my car and glanced over at the Caddy to see if I had accomplished my mission. There in the middle of the door wasn't just a dent but a really big hole. The pyramid shape of the key had effectively punched a key sized hole right into the sheet metal. I felt slightly bad about it, but that only lasted until I got the bill to fix my car's dent. After that, I hoped the Caddy started rusting and door fell off.

At the old office I used to take the last spot on the end in the parking garage, and because they were angled-in spots, that spot was a little extra wide before the chain over to the other side of the garage. Giving me plenty of room to open my door all the way and if the driver on the other side parked IN his spot, they could open theirs all the way too. Of course, of all the times I parked there, for 10 years, the only vehicle I ever saw grossly parked over the line into my spot was a coworker. :frusty:

Not 2 months after having my truck, I went to the grocery store and had a choice of only 2 spots. Parked next to a Cadillac which already had a dent in the front and some nasty black grime on it. Come back to the truck only to see a dent right behind my rear door about four inches long and some black grime all along the rear panel of the truck. She left no information. After getting into 2 accidents in the last year and totaling my corolla, I wanted nothing to do with insurance and figured it would be the same amount as my deductible to get a paintless repair done on it and take the grime off myself. I really didn't want my premium to go up any higher. I get home and get a call from the local police station telling me that they have a Mrs so and so there making a claim that my super white truck caused "substantial black paint damage and dents" to her car and it was my fault. I explained to the officer calling that I came out to damage to my truck, her car was silver, my truck is all white and that they damage was there before I pulled in. The only way I could have done that damage was if I drove directly into her car with only my rear tire. Even told her I had a receipt from when I was paying and to check security. Emailed her my insurance card, receipt, and a photo of the truck and damage. I imagine they called the lady out on her BS and checked the cameras. Never got anything from insurance stating a claim was made, but they wouldn't give me her info to try and get cash to do repairs. They could only give me her insurance info. Now I avoid that parking lot like the plague

Apparently where I live, it's ok to "love tap" the vehicle in front or behind you when parallel parking...:annoyed:

It's OK. let them try and tap my rear plate bumper. Won't end well for them! Planning on a front plate bumper sometime in the near future, too.

    I'm the problem :(

Yesterday I was going to LA Fitness and parked in the parking structure. I came in crooked so I backed up to straighten out in the tiny spot.

I overestimated how much space I had and I clipped a BMW at like .05 miles per hour. Still caused a bit of damage and chipped the headlight because of my steel bumper.

Only one guy saw it and started immediately telling me to leave as fast as possible. I told him no and started to write a note and he continued to bug me. Really odd...

Anyway, the owner walks up right then and o tell him what happened and that I was super sorry and it's all my fault and he was super nice about it. Probably because he heard my discussion with the weirdo. That surprised me because I used to drive a BMW and it is so expensive to fix. Lucky for me he works at a body shop and is cool with me paying him in cash to fix it.

So I'm sorry for being a reckless parking lot driver. Still feeling bad. Never hit anything before that.

Edit: just got the quote on repairs if I don't report it to insurance. 2 grand... This hurts. My fault though.
