Funny, I just posted this morning about my truck turning 50k and it only being 11 months old. Well, I was having trouble pairing my iPone 6 and ultimately it seemed to ruin the bluetooth in the radio. Symptom was message on radio..."Waiting for bluetooth." This is according to dealership 4hr diag today.

Cost is $957 to replace. The truck is 11 months old but 50k miles, they told me to pound sand on warranty.

Rules are rules and I get it, but I will admit, that we treat clients MUCH better than that in my company and still remain profitable.

    Multiply your customers my millions.

I'd have went aftermarket. Or bought second hand OEM. But hey. Sorry.

I hear you. BTW, for $957 I can live without bluetooth. Hell, I made it about 40 years without it lol

I find the Bluetooth feature somewhat problematic half of the time to begin with. For a while I was re-pairing biweekly.

I went aftermarket immediately paired up with zero issues. And I just got the new Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. Paired right up again with zero issues.

I am not much of a car stereo guy - so help me understand...you got an a/m head unit and I am guessing that your steering wheel controls worked?? If so, this may be an option for me - what kind of unit did you get? Big thanks

You may be able to pull it and ship it to a electronics repair shop for short money

I've had zero problems w/ bluetooth the iPhone 6 and the factory non nav radio. Pairs seamlessly every time. Works flawlessly. The best bluetooth pairing I've had on any vehicle so far.

If you don't want to go aftermarket, you should be able to buy a new Entune HU with nav for 450 on the marketplace here. I'm not 100% sure that FLtrucks is still selling them, but I would definitely check into it at least.

Funny. I had a similar problem where the bluetooth was taking a long time to connect and once it would it would stop entirely and disable any reconnections. Thought my unit was toast too. Apparently there is a connection inside the blutooth circuitboard that is screwed in and thats how it made its contact to the unit. I had to pull apart the bluetooth module some time ago, and tighten the two screws. To ensure it wouldn't happen again, I applied a liberal amount of clear acrylic nail polish over the two screws. Haven't had the problem since and I've since stepped up from mild offroading to balls out dirt/sand style high speed wheeling. I posted a how to on it and got little replies to it to keep it going. If you'd like I can always find it and send it to you.

Bummer...I saw your link first thing this morning, pulled her in the garage, took the radio out and started taking it apart. Who would have thought, my 2014 radio is completely different. AAAGGGHHHHH.

    BIG thanks anyway 12TRDTacoma!!!

The radio may be different b it the bluetooth antenna is more then likely going to be the same. The antenna is not integrated into the stereo. It's an external unit.

Mods: Total Chaos UCA's. Toytec adjustable coilovers with 5100's. 5100"s in the rear, 1 inch Billet aluminum blocks, Pioneer NEX 4000 network DVD Receiver. Soon to be installed: JL 10 subs, Fosgate 360a2 amp for JL subs at 2 ohm mono, JL JX-360/2 for highs, Diamond Audio Kevlar 6.5's front and rear.
FYI I had the same head unit. Features are great but sound quality is 1000% better with my new Pioneer NEX-4000. Crutch field threw in free dash mounting kit and wiring harness and 50% off the adapter for the steering wheel and rear camera adapter. My last taco 2010 TRD radio was swapped out for a $150 dollar Kenwood and the sound quality was 1000% better as well.
