I forgot to take pics but I can easily snap a couple with the seat in place. It's a real tidy unit.

I'm still messing with the crossovers... not that I have any true ones but just the ones built into the sub unit, amp and head unit themselves.

The one cool thing about this sub is that it comes with a separate control knob for the gain. It really helps when my iPod is on shuffle and so many different genres (at different bitrates) pop up. It allows you to fine tune the bass on the sub with a simple dial.

Went up to FoCo and met Old Brett and his buddy again. Replaced the shoes in the rear brakes and painted both the drums. Finally got rid of the rusty look of the drums behind the black wheels. Always bothered me.

Used a wire brush on a grinder.

Mine weren't too bad with surface rust but there was a lot of brake dust and crud on them.

Got them down to bare metal as best I could, then sprayed it with a few light coats of VHT caliber/drum paint.

I was going to use self etching primer but the spray paint can didn't specify to use primer, so I withheld.

    Started prepping for upcoming projects.

Ran the USB input from my head unit to the center console lower cubby. In doing so I got rid of the single din cubby below the head unit and added my Paranoid Fabrication 6-switch panel in its place. Left the panel empty of switches etc thinking it might be easier to wire them, install my CB, etc...

I have to say, Paranoid Fab's panel is awesome. Tight fit, looks great. Can only imagine it will look super slick once the switches et al are in place

Jon just stopped by for a couple of days.

We installed my @skygear fuse box, switch backs and CB mount. Only after I almost rendered my driver's side door and garage door completely useless

Fuse box was installed on the passenger side of the engine bay near the firewall. Grounded it to the cruise control bracket bolt.

    IMG_6851_zpsgpfpvjww_8f57e7cde740b28f61119692fa8d7baaed9c4984.jpg

Went through the firewall with a 5/8" hole saw. Then used a combination of a breather grommet and wire grommet. Ran the main wiring harness through it perfectly. Super tight, no way water is getting in there.

    IMG_6850_zpsxx5pkigk_21098ecb94c9c83138b680c5a3d5a31345539be9.jpg

Ran the main power along the firewall to the battery.

    IMG_6852_zpsybbus0cb_bee7ba203ec8f4d55975591e010cdf2ada51d3b4.jpg

    Got the switch backs organized

    IMG_6854_zpstf79qdie_72a1dd29d3232a21c4ecb3bd0a45489c76e089e5.jpg

Then merely connected the color coded wiring from the wiring harness to the switch backs. Then connected the switch backs to the switches and popped them all in the @paranoid56 Fabrication switch panel. Skygear also made me a custom Cobra 75xt disconnect in a switch blank that is in the furthest right switch panel bay. Have to install my CB now.

    IMG_6857_zpsu4myus9c_bfa905e9c3b156fb3e993342ce1fd63ef10996b7.jpg

Now all I have to do is get the accessories and run the positive wire(s) to the short harness that is coming off the box. All the wires are color coded of course. Super simple.

Lastly I need to figure out what two wires inside my cab will provide dimmable illumination that I can run to the switch back daisy chain. Consensus says it should be a solid green wire (positive) and a green wire with a stripe on it (negative) but Jon and I saw nothing of the sort. My rear locker switch is illuminated and dimmable and it has 4 wires coming off of it. None of which were the aforementioned. It did have a yellow with a green stripe. FWIW the dimmer switch/knob itself has two yellow with green stripe wires coming off of it and two yellow with black stripes.

Yessir. Because of the CB. If I ever choose to get rid of this CB unit and disconnect in the panel, I can always add a 6th switch.

there's something i wanted to ask skygear, but since he disappeared i never got an answer. figure ill ask you.

There is SIX switchbacks, but only FIVE relays.

Therefore, we only color matched five wires between the loomed harness to five switchbacks.

The sixth switch back has no wire to connect to within the harness, but it does have a wire coming out of it...

    :confused:o_O

Correct. It's a green wire probably.

If I recall my conversation well enough it's for an accessory that does not require a relay but can be hooked up directly to that switch.

Yes, I think i heard the same.

But does it require an inline fuse?

If you look at the wiring correctly, it seems that the wire will provide power to that six accessory, and provides the power to activate the relays.

I think now would be a good time to inform you that I am a novice at this stuff. I really just have a very basic understanding of wiring.

If you look at the underside of the box there is an 18 gauge green wire that runs into the relay box. It's the fourth wire down if you start at #1. So I would assume it's fused. However there is no 18 gauge green wire in the short harness coming off the box in the engine bay. So the way my novice brain understands it is that you would have to run the 6th accessory power lead to that 18 gauge green wire coming off the switch back.

    Does that sound right?

were both in the same boat. I would say im on the intermediate level when it comes to wiring.

His were sent out long time ago. Before ottar had all the colors back in stock. If you want the other colors and feel confident in removing the switch backs, let me know and I will send you them. OR I can send another set of backs with all the different colors already made next week.
