Well done Monte. My only suggestion is to add some zirk fittings to your slipping square tubes... That shit will get siezed up real quick in the outside world. Be good to be able to service them with some grease to keep the internal steel from deciding your rack is eternally up or down lol.

 

That's kinda what I was thinking too. Is it possible to get them plated? Or use stainless?

Plating would screw with the tube thouh and the tolerance for sliding.

Grease seems the way to go..but not ideal either.

 

yea each time you extend it you're gonna have grease on the top pipe that will get on anything that rubs on it... Not sure what the best solution would be there.

 

Another reason why I think round would be better could make something like this work as a gasket almost.

But it's the lower tube that would have grease all over it. Bigger tube is the top one to avoid water build up.

Pretty excited. Ordered all the parts for it and co2 stuff. Just praying I don't have to dick with the backlash too much.

It was time for something new. The site makes the image too small actually to fully appreciate the image. Oh well.

Cut-offs take a little getting used to.

 

It is easily twice the light below the cut-off. It is am amazing amount of light. Is the fringe supposed to be purple?

 

Yea that's the projector lens. They do that to light. Kinda like a prism sorta ya know..

 

To my eye its a a blue/ultra-violet but to the camera sensor its almost a blue.

I'll take a look at my benchmark books to see what they show. I have one for MT and one for ID.

 

Probably gonna get a lot of hate on here but i thought it was too cheap to pass up. Never heard of the brand but it says country of origin is Italy and had good reviews.

220v is the way to go man. For real. And shit I'm using an east wood 22v 185amp and it works fine for me.

Long as you learn how to use it it'll be fine.

 

Yeah I knew anything 220v would be a step in the right direction. My buddy has a nice Hobart, just kinda old, and all of my experience has been with that. I've never needed to weld over 1/4 so I think I'll be fine. I just wanted something better than harbor freight lol.
