Well, I wasted no time in starting to customize this bad boy....

    Plasti-dipped the Badges this weekend.

What is everyone's stance on mudflaps? These look so big on the truck I'm seriously considering pulling them off.

Dude, nice truck - enjoy and all that - but yank off the pinstripes. They scream "my dealer charged me $200 for masking tape."

Congrats on the truck! You'll really like it. A word of advice on modding you're truck, you'll catch the bug and it gets expensive quick.

Trim the flaps, easy to do, don't have to remove them. I like the idea of flaps, but not those stock curb rubbers.

OP - if you pay attention to all of the opinions on this forum, you will end up with a truck that looks just like everyone else's, the "lemming effect" - a lot of nice Tacoma's reflect the owner's individual tastes, likes, usage, and style. If you pay real close attention to threads on this forum, you will discover that most drivability, mechanical, electrical, and capability problems are the consequence of some "mod" from stock. Give that a lot of thought before you put a lot of dough into the "look". Good luck to ya, and make your truck "YOUR" truck.

I second trimming the flaps if you can. I took mine off but only because it wasn't a new truck. If it was new, I would have just trimmed them. Taking them off leads you to a lot of possible rock chips on a new truck.

Not really, I removed all the decals, all the badges and I like the stock wheels and tires. I don't like wet okole"s or weathertech floor mats or in-channel vent visors. I will never lift my truck and I find a stock 4x4 Tacoma very capable off road, if you know what your doing. Not a swipe at Tacoma owners. the "lemming effect" exits on most forums.
