what is it?

Took my interior out today to put some sound dampening down on the floor, and came across this thing, its under the rear of the front console, and has a fan on the front of it, in the pic i "borrowed" the red arrow is pointing at it, it has a grill on the back (shown). the wires connected to it go under the passenger seat and then out of the cab through a grommet, can someone please identify

Did the sound dampening material make any difference?

 

Yes it did but not a huge difference sound wise anyway, the package also says it reduces heat/AC usage we'll see about that

 

I did all the vertical walls down, floor pan, and rear wall x2 and the difference is huge. I can barley hear any road noise at all when driving with the windows up.

 

Yeah I did the back wall too and added some carpet underlay also to muffle sound and keep in heat during the winter.

 

What did you use? I used Raamat and ensolite from Raamaudio and that shit is amazing.
