Sacramento Toyota delearship expereinces/preferences for purchase an warrantly service?

Hey guys, I'm looking to get a 2015 DCLB 4x.

Given the exact same new truck at two different dealerships, which dealership would you choose (or avoid) based on your persoanl experience and why?

    Maita, or Elk Grove?

Got my '07 at Maita, they were ok. They told me twice they didn't have a manual on the lot, the second time I went in with a printout from their website showing it, walked to the back of the lot an pointed at it behind the locked gate. Nobody wanted red I guess.

Tried to get one at Elk Grove but they jerked me around saying it would be coming in soon... A month later it still wasn't there. Gave up on them and found the one mentioned above.

Bought my '15 up in Placerville because they've been good to my family so far (2 runners, 2 tacos, and a duramax) and they actually had what I wanted in stock. Didn't like Folsom or Roseville last time around so I didn't even bother giving them a chance this time.

Thanks for the input, Adam. I have never liked even being on the lots at Roseville or Folsom, and I've had a couple services at Maita (1st gen LBJ recall for instance) with no probs, and I always go there for parts.

    Never been to Elk Grove.

Only Maita and Elk Grove came up with the spec I wanted when I searched last night, but I do like the idea of going to Placerville, and it would provide some nice steep grades for a test drive. Haven't checked Auburn yet either, but I test drove a truck there a couple decades ago. I should re-check their inventories tonight.

How has the service been up there?

I figure every lot has some ignorant DB salespeople who come and go over time, but it is the overall customer service and delership owner/management I'm most interest in.

Forgot to mention Auburn, they were really nice, actually bought dinner for my buddy and I, but wouldn't wiggle enough on the price to make a deal. (Must be all those dinners) ;)

Only one service so far for me, Thompson's has been awesome. Asked if I was ok with the machine washing, vacuumed the inside very well (I have a very course haired dog and a 15 hp ridgid vac, still takes me a while...somebody spent some time on it, they got the sides of the seats!) Oh and they turned off my seatbelt chime no charge.

And you're absolutely right, you only see the salesman once, the service is what's important...on that note, the salesman and finance guy I worked with spent most of my service appointment bsing with me and playing with my dog...guess that's pretty good, right?

    Thanks again.

I just looked at Magnussen's and Thompson's inventory, and neither have my spec, at least online.

You could always go to Thompson's and try to get them to trade with another dealership. Personally, I've bought 3 vehicles from Thompson's and walked out of there happy with them. Never was like that anywhere else. The salesman I used last time isn't there anymore (he's at their other dealership in town now). What I did before was ask Danny who the non-pushy salesman was. He gave me the guy's name and I like who he chose. If you end up going up there, let me know and I'll ask Danny who he'd recommend for a salesman.

As for service, make sure you pick a good service adviser. One that doesn't try to sell you shit you don't need done. Honesty is the name of the game here. If you choose to drive up to P'ville for your service work, work with Danny Cross (his cousin Austin works there now too).

I've done it a few times when my buddy comes up from the bay with his extra kayak, had really good luck actually now I want to buy a couple kayaks... One for the lady one for me... I was thinking an open top for her/whoever has the dog, and a closed top for me. Anyone else get their dog on a kayak? Mine float tubes with me so I'm sure she'll love the kayak lol
