Slippery slope, if you read the rules basically you could even terminate a contract for a declining level of play. Something tells me the Kings are just testing this avenue out to dump there bad contracts rather than buyouts.

 

I'm sure Richards will appeal and a lot more information will surface.

You see the link OZ posted earlier? Looks like there was some issue with border police and Richards on draft day. RCMP are involved now too. Maybe he had Stoll's leftovers in his back pocket when trying to go home. If the Kings can terminate his contract they'll be hit with $1.x million versus the buyout option with a $4m cap hit a few of the years.
Don't forget this was one of those backloaded contracts the league got rid of with the latest version of the CBA so LA would be getting hit with a few seasons of cap recapture during the buyout. And since PHI traded Richards before the CBA was signed, they make out unscathed.

I thought they would get more than that for him. He's a good leader, someone else with a young D core could of used him and paid more than Anahiem I would think.

If that 's true this is all total bullshit by the Kings. So, because you need him to play, Jarett Stoll can do all the coke he wants and get convicted for it but if someone is arrested at the border for something and you need to ditch his contract you can terminate him immediately. BULLSHIT. I hope the Kings get what is coming to them and lose the appeal that will likely be coming if that's the case.

That or the Kings should have to ditch Stoll and the wife beater immediately, no questions asked.

 

Think I read charges on Stoll were dropped since he pleaded guilty. Not the best time to do serving that stupid when you're a UFA.

First the Lack trade and now Bieksa for fairly low draft picks..... Not really making alot of sense so far, hopefully Benning has a great masterplan. I'm not ready to fully lose faith in the new management just yet but I'm wavering after those two trades.

 

My buddy thinks they're going to try for Kessel, because Benning Drafted him. To which I responded God NO! Please NO!

 

We'd be better off bringing his sister in! He's a pure goal scorer, which we need but way too big of a diva.
