So I dropped my truck off at the dealership this morning. They just called me and said that since I supplied the CV axle, I should have also supplied that missing "dust shield". He said with the part and labor it would be $284 out the door. Ha! Eff you buddy.

What u guys think, do I have anything to stand on to go down there and raise hell tonight? I feel like they could have at least said hey you didn't bring us this missing part. Or they could have at least put the one off the old CV axle onto the new.

Edit: I paid them the labor charges to install the new axle while my truck was in pieces.

They should've said something instead of doing something they knew was wrong

Agreed. It didnt come on the axle i bought from O'Reillys. He told me it's not a seal, it's a dust shield. It fits into the seal on the hub. More concerned about the crap going into my wheel bearing

They didn't have to pull the axles out of the diff, the whole front end came out in one piece

ok I know a lot of you guys are into guns and I have several I just don't stay "on top" of it like ya'll do.
I am looking to get something much smaller than my glock 19 to carry on a daily basis (it is way too big IMO). I also am wanting to get my wife something fairly small for her to carry. After researching alot the past couple of days it seems like the M&P Shield 9mm by S&W is what a lot of people recommend and seems like a good bang for the buck and the reviews are fantastic. I would like to keep the cost of each gun to no more than $450 and prefer 9mm but am open to suggestions. My wife is pretty small so I want the gun to be a good fit for her too and be able to carry and shoot without being to big or having problems. Any suggestions or comments welcomed and if any of you have actually used that gun and can comment I would appreciate it. Or even recommend something else, I am all ears. (not really wanting revolvers however)

Small guns are hard to shoot. Girls often don't shoot much, nor do they have the grip strength of grown men. Yet for some reason guys buy them little dinky guns that are a bitch to shoot well. Most also don't carry on the body, they carry in a purse. Which makes size less of an issue. If she's planning to purse carry find her a purse that she likes that will hold the 19. Put a reduced power recoil spring in it to reduce muzzle flip and give it a decent set of sights and trigger job.

The Shield 9 is a good little gun but subcompact 9s are kinda violent to shoot. 40s are a real bitch.

That's my opinion based on a fair amount of experience

Take her to an indoor range that rents guns. There's one in west Ashley. Put a target at 5 yards and see what she can put 3rds into the A zone with in under 1second. Go from there

I feel like that 19 is still rather large to carry around even if in a purse, her purses are rather small, just big enough for essentials basically. I have signed her up for a NRA basic pistol 8 hour class where they go over everything to do with hand guns and then you learn how to shot at the range, I figure that would help get the basics down. Would a .38 be less violent than a 9mm or about the same? I have only shot my 38 special so I don't have much to compare it to.
