I've carried a G19 every day for 4 years and it's the SMALLEST gun I've carried.

The NRA course is a good place to start and a shit place to end your training. Get some one on one time with someone who actually knows WTF they're talking about afterwards. It isn't gonna be super cheap but it'll make a world of difference. I can help point you in the right direction if you need it.

38 is going to be no better than 9. In an airweight it's considerably worse. And carrying a revolver feels like carrying a potato to me.

Keep in mind, CCW is a lifestyle change. Not a piece of paper. Your going to have to change some of the things you do and have now to accommodate it. There is sacrifice and work involved.

The CCW classes are a fucking joke BTW. Passing those classes in no way shape or form proves proficiency defending your life with a handgun. It barely demonstrates competency operating a firearm.

yeah I figured the class wouldn't be everything but at least it will show her basics and we can go from there. Just needing to figure out a good compact pistol that both of us would like (doesn't have to be the same kind, I can have something different from her.) so we both can start going to the range more and shooting/training with it. I like my glock 19 and I can see Eddy does too lol. I do need something more compact though and slightly slimmer as in my line of work I wear pretty tight clothing with tucked in shirts 99% of the time so something bigger just prints too much so even just a slightly smaller gun would be better. Also, any preferences on where to buy bulk ammo online and what is a decent (but affordable) round? I have always shot Federal brand through my glock. I have ran across several website but have always bought ammo locally which is pretty pricey. Just looking for good range ammo to practice without breaking the bank.

    was thinking about this:
