Who makes fabricated housings for the 8" diff besides RuffStuff? Looking for options

 

Trail gear does but it's pretty narrow. Why would you want to keep 8" and upgrade the housing? Total waste of money

I have a full floater housing that uses my e locker third and D44 front hubs and disc brakes.

 

Why not just do what @username did and swap a land cruiser 9.5" diff with a diamond axle

 

How much wider is the 9.5?

What am I missing...a semi float Diamond axle is like a grand? I must have clicked the wrong thing lol

 

Idk. Some people are saying the 8" diff is strong enough, so why toss it. At this point it's kind of a wash, I need to regear my 8" diff. Would a rear end that's 8 or 7" narrower than the front be too narrow?

 

Would look bad IMO.

The 8inch is okay..but it will fail if you push it

 

That is nothing but the housing

you would have zero backspace room for articulation your tires would hit after about 10 degrees

 

Well let's put it this way, the 9" I'm looking at is the same width as a tundra axle (first gen). Tundra axle has me at like 79-80" outside tire width right now. New kit will be like 87-88 I'm told.

 

So that's 7-8" wider not more narrow right ?

 

No, the rear end would be 7 or 8" narrower than the front.

 

How much is the 9" set up going to run? Kinda thinking at some point I'd like to step up to disks in the rear but also want to keep the E brake. Would love to get a housing built but trying to keep it in the $3k range so that's not really a option.

 

Anyone know which headers do not fit with TC Coil bucket gussets? I could have sworn I read a note on a couple of them that said they aren't compatible. I'm looking at DTST headers right now...

Are you second gen? Depending on what third member setup and brakes you want I can get you a currie f9 in the same ballpark price. If you don't need the speed sensors it's even cheaper.

 

Thought this pictures was cool. Truck is getting a sway bar next. Making those 37s look small.

 

Shipped the truck to Alaska yesterday, this is a copy of the DoD vehicle processing center's inspection... lol.
