My 2006 Tacoma was totaled last week, so I picked up a new 2015 Tacoma today. Like a dummy I didn’t pull my old steps off before it went to the body shop (I really didn’t think it would be totaled).

I would really like a set of steps just like the ones I used to have. I bought them from a friend who didn’t want them and when I was installing them I couldn’t find a name on them anywhere. They must have been some generic brand, which really didn’t matter. The wife really liked them as they helped her get in the truck (she’s only 5’ tall).

So if anyone knows what brand these are and/or a good source to buy them please let me know. The wife says it’s a priority.

Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
they look like the predator step bars to me.

but there are quite a few who sell similar

I don't know if they still do but smittybuilt used to make some seriously shitty tube products.

thats why they went from super popular to... well whatever they are now.

granted they are just step bars

I dont really think I have any experience good or bad with them, they look nice. The appear to use the factory bolt holes in the DC

Seller has good feedback. Thats a good start.

He has a few negatives, and nuetrals but I personally give them very little credit when their comment is horrid english.

It really chaps my ass when people leave negative feedback for stupid things like "I didn't like the packaging." I always make it a point to read a few really good reviews and a lot of the bad reviews. You can't please everyone, but for that price, it's worth a shot...

The smittybilt's are made by Nfab and most have the Nfab name on them. There are plenty of members on here running them without any problems. With Smittybilt you get the same Nfab steps without paying the Nfab price.

That's what I did. They bolt right on - did it myself w/o help. You should know the grid part of the step rusts and the powder coat flakes off. If I had it to do over again I'd get the S/S - at the time I liked the black look and didn't want a lot of shiny silver look but I've found over the years no one really notices much of anything so just do what makes you happy. In regard to no one noticing anything - a few years ago I had all the windows in my house replaced and no one noticed.

That's why my sliders are painted. When they get to looking bad I spray them and they are new again. :D

Ok...what about 2" main tubes vs 3" main tubes? I'm pretty sure my old ones were only 2" (I can't them measure now, the truck was sent off to the salvage yard) but the 3" tubes, P/N T0580CC look pretty good as well. Anyone have pictures of the 2" and 3" tubes to compare?

With my military discount, I can get the 3" bars at Jegs for 400 bucks.

Thanks for the advice but I live in Las Vegas, so rust is the least of my concerns. I had my tube steps on my 2006 for 6+ years and never had any issues with them.
