One of the worse movies ever for all the hype they created for it. I finally understand the marketing ploy behind releasing it in on a few select cities. THEY NEEDED IT. I voted for them to release it nation wide, and now I feel cheated.

Honestly if you are thinking about seeing it, go to another movie. Once that is finished drop into the Paranormal Activity theatre and watch the last 10 minutes of it. You wont miss a thing.

The only part of it that i actually enjoyed was the last 10 minutes. That was the only part that was freaky and had any action. The first 90 minutes contained litterally no action. I understand they were building suspense, but they failed to deliver.

Pretty much what you see in the commercial is the only part of the movie with any action.

Exactly. The fact that it is not a true story makes the very end horribly cheesy.

After I found out it was not a true story, it made the movie less appealing.

Ya like derek said in the other thread, one reason he was freaked out was it was so close to his house...

Thats why the exorcist scared the shit outta me, I live near the building where the related events happened. It kinda set the bar high for this one. Also the "Hot Zone" outbreak happened where i grew up and went to school. My dentist office is across the street from where the monkey only outbreak happened

No problem even my girlfriend wasn't scared one bit. I am not joking about going in for the last ten minutes. That really would give you the full effect of the movie

Well, if its a 1st person POV like Cloverfield, im not gonna bother. That movie annoyed the hell out of me. I hated that amateur filming feeling that it had and having the camera constantly jump around and shit. :annoyed:

Ok i forgot about that movie, that had to be one of the biggest dissappointments. It is kind of first person. It about half and half between point of view and stationary "homemade" angles. It is not nearly as jumpy in the first person views and most of the important stuff is shot from stationary.

I agree 100%, the most recent movie to ever scare me in theatres was I Am Legend and I think it was mostly because I was not expecting it

that one was pretty lame imho. but cloverfield, and quarantine and "the mist" and all that shit are really getting old. just gore, no story line, no explanations, or details about whats going on. its just stupid and a waste of money

Exactly and why I pirate with a clean conscious. I have been duped into paying insane amounts for shitty films way too much. In fact we have a small old-timey movie theater just off campus that only shows independent films and I have seen some of the best movies ever there for $4 plus free popcorn.
