    Installed a light bar on my bumper, still gotta do the wiring and all that crap but it looks good and works well.

    Also trying to figure out my wiring for in cab controls for the winch, if I splice into the remote wires I won't need any relays will I?

    If you are just extending the control wires so the reach into the cab, then no. Your just moving the plug inside, not the entire box with the contractor, right?

    I've got the switches on the way (Carling rockers), and I think I can handle the harness.

    Correct
    The winch will have constant power though, correct?
    I want to put a master switch on the power cable to the winch which would require a relay (I think).

    Wait, your putting a switch inline between the winch and the battery and your locating that in the cab? Or is it an in-cab switch to a relay to control a main power shut off to the winch. :confused:

    I want a switch between the battery and winch, but the physical switch in the cab, so I believe that I would want a relay (Not sure what amperage) controlled by the switch in the cab.

    I wired winch controls for my buddies 2008. I just spliced into the remote control wires and extended those under the hood then wired it to two switches. 1 for actual power and the other for in/out so that he could leave it off and not worry about accidentally hitting the winch switch. One wouldn't get power with the other. It was quite the pain figuring out the wiring lol but I took a picture of the back of it for future reference. He could also still use his remote if he wanted

    Ok, the power switch, did it cut power to the switch that controlled the in/out or did it actually cut winch power?

    So this setup would be an emergency off type of arrangement? Something to have in case the contractor fails to shut off the power?

    Hauled two bikes and gear ect up to silverwood near lake arrowhead. Took the gf for a day ride yesterday to deep creek on a couple trails but mostly 3n34.

    Ok, sounds simple enough.

    It's just the first setup that popped into my head when I was reading about a winch power switch.
    But according to my research when solenoids fail they tend to fail in the off position, so it's not a big safety issue, and I shouldn't have a battery draw when it's not in use, so I'm not seeing a good reason to spend the extra money on a relay and wiring associated with it.

    Yea screw putting another solenoid inline. You'd need a 500amp one anyways.

    Just extend the plug wires to the cab.

    Yea it looks kinda big but I think it's just the picture angle. It is bigger than I expected but still clears the vents and ac controls just fine

    What is the best way to lower the carrier bearing? I've seen that Street Taco thing but its a 6 week lead time IIRC. I've seen people use washers and others use spacers :notsure:

    When I did it I didn't need much, only like 5/8" worth of spacer. I ended up using the spacers for my skid plate that came with my toytec diff drop, worked perfectly. Washers would work fine.

    I ended up using the stock bolts and left a thread or two above the nuts.

    How many of you are actually running a diff drop, and does your skid still fit?

    I run a diff drop. front stock skid worked fine. The back one was a PITA to get on with the front so I stopped using it. I got RAT skids that work with the diff. drop and haven't had a problem. (I've gone wheeling once since I got them tho :anonymous: )

    I did the exact same thing haha
    I'm running one with my RAT skids also. The skids mounted just fine to the stock locations, though you can see where the diff mounting bolts have made contact with my crunched in skid. I have since done a custom front crossmember and welded in new plates for the rear mount of the ifs skid
