My truck has 250,000 km and I have the tranny fluid changed regular intervals. Last week I had Mobile 1 do a full fluid change with synthetic and everything is shifting fine except if I come to a quick stop from around 40-60 km/h. The truck stops normals but than all of a sudden I can feel the engine almost die and than it feels like it is clunking into 1st and surging. I have felt the normal Tacoma surge on stopping and this is much worse, to the point that I could re-end someone if I am not careful and too close.

Does this sound like a fluid level issue, wrong fluid or clogged pathway in the tranny? I just find it is a strange coincidence it happens right after a fluid change.

Kind of sounds like low fluid.

Thanks, I will check that today. I believe the engine needs to be running to check it right?
