Thanks Sean. Barb is actually invited to her company party right off of 112 and Colorado. We did that last year and saw Thornton's show. But we're undecided what we want to do this year. I'll keep it in mind. I have your number. :D

Any one have an idea if Wheeler Lake is doable without skids or serious armor?

If you're patient, and keep it slow, I'd say Wheeler Lake is do able. It changes a lot with the run off, so it's all up to personal preference.

I live pretty close, and theres a lot of snow at "bowling ball hill" right now.

For the major obstacles i've seen, yes, with careful tire placement. the puddles seem to hide some holes and large rocks though. I'm not sure i'd do it without skids though.

I cant figure out the short link.. but if you go to my photo page, most of the 4x4 photos are at Wheeler... Im not stock but i plan on doing it when the snow is clear!

this may sound stupid... but how do I tell if it's my power steering pump going out or my rack? the thing "moans" every time I turn the wheel (calm down guys) and it's getting worse, I know the rack bushings need replacing, but feel like it's the pump that's "moaning" not the rack...

Have you cleaned the screen out in the reservoir?

Holy cow I'm laughing so hard right now....

Cole is currently in his room crying.

Why? because I sent him there for the way he was talking.

His parting words are why I'm laughing so hard.

"I'm 9! I should be able to say "butthole"! "

Is it the same moan you get if you try to steer further than the stops? If so, a bad rack could be causing enough resistance to make it moan

There's a fine screen in the reservoir attached to the pump that is notorious for getting clogged up. Super easy to unbolt, IIRC there's 3 bolts, one of which you access though the hole in the pulley. Pull that out, flush the fluid, and clean that screen as good as possible with brake cleaner or something of the sort, then run some fluid through it and see how it flows.

The clogged screen cavitates the fluid and causes the wine. I bet that fixes your problem. At least try it before you go replacing parts.

Enough to make it a lot of fun!
That is funny. That sounds like my 6 year old cousin. When ever he does something and you want to check it, he says that it is good because he is 6.
