What is the best coil springs to run with the bilstein 5100s, I see some people have ome 885 but some are running others. I would just like to hear some opinions about these and pictures of the setup would be very helpful also.
    Thanks.

Yup, what yota said. I have OME 887s and love them. Right around 3 inches of lift and ride is great.

HOPEFULLY I found the right thread because I have been reading and searching for an answer.
I have a 09 DCSB TRDS, hidden HWMS wench bumper w/VR8000 winch, OME Dakar leafs and 5100's all around, front currently set at 1.75. After the OME install I want to raise the front back up with the best coils that will give me lift, provide a good ride (but then again its a truck). I don't want to have to keep spending $$$ on UCA's, bushings etc... trying to correct issues from the coils I choose so I want to make sure I get the right ones. So far I have read you don't mix OME/5100 OR you do. I have read about the inability to get proper camber with 887, worn CV boots, rubbing etc.. but I haven't read any of that stuff on Eibach coils. I DON'T want a soft spongy ride.
    SO
I am down to 5100 on 0 with either 887 or Eibach coils. while I trust those with more experience on here it has been like pulling teeth to get a decent answer. I already know I can do whatever I choose, but then I wouldn't need to ask for help in that scenario, It's just that I am new to this mod stuff when it goes beyond stereos, lights and tires and I don't want to cause problems for myself by choosing the wrong coil. Worse case I will say F it and leave it at it sits. I really would appreciate some helpful advise.

Is it an AC or DC? How much weight approximately up front do you have with that setup? I am assuming you are still running stock UCAs?

Okay. You can mix OME coils with 5100s...not sure where you heard you could not (unless I misunderstood you).

If you aren't planning on adding more weight the 887s will probably get you between 2.5-2.75 inches because your front end is slightly heavier than stock. You won't NEED UCAs. The truck will not break or be terrible to drive, BUT a set of LR UCAs will improve the ride. I'd recommend getting them if you are concerned with future issues and anal about your truck getting perfect alignment, but it's ultimately up to you. I am currently running the 5100s with 887s and stock UCAs, very happy with the ride. It is definitely stiffer than stock, but not too stiff (don't really have much frame of reference here). If you really want a stiffer ride get the 886 coils or Eibachs.

As for the cv angles, I've posted pics on here of mine and had a couple buddies who are mechanics look at mine, they all said they don't look too bad.

He likely heard it from some of our vendors, I've been told by several that 886+ are better suited for OME shocks, and 885- work fine for 5100s.

Depending on how you take that info, it can definitely seem that you can't run 5100s on some OME coils, though it only states that they're not ideal.

    Just a guess.

Front bilstein 5100 with OME 884 w/trim pack, 17" fuel trophy wheels wrapped with 32" toyot open country m/t, bakflip fibermax tonneau cover, Avec 30" led light bar behind lower grille, marathon seat covers in max 5 camo pattern, trimmed front and rear mud flaps, more to come.
I have OME 884x with billy 5100 set at zero. I am perfectly level now and. Love the ride quality. I chose 884 because I don't plan on putting any weight up front. I'm not sure about the different OME coils might be different with the bigger 88x coils, they may require OME due to the length of travel. When I ordered mine from wheelers they did ask me if I had OME shocks or Billy's. Told them Billy's. They only needed to know that because the trim pack (taco lean solver) is different for OME and Billy's. I originally had the Billy's set at 1.75" lift with OEM coils and am totally happy I spent a little extra change for the OME coils. Rides like a dream over stock coils. Hope this helps.

I have the Eibach 620 spring on my AC with an ARB. I got approximately 2" of lift due to the weight of the ARB. Ride is good, if not a bit stiff, although it doesn't particularly bother me, but I'm used to stiff riding vehicles.

My caster numbers are unfortunately sub 1.0 with my setup but I haven't had any noticeable issues with drivability on the highway. Is it ideal, no, but is it on my list of things to change at the moment, not really.

I may invest in a set when my stock UCAs need to be replaced.

If you are changing out your front suspension, do the ECGS bushing while you're in there, saves doing it after the fact.

this was the only somewhat recent thread i found with similar question to post on, I have DCSB 4x4 billy 5100's all around, toytec AAL rear, and the eibach coils that came with my toytec kit aren't holding up. my nose is starting to droop with the HWMS, being that there are no issues with the billys, I don't really want to replace them, but I want to get back to a level 3" lift. I'm considering OME 885's but i don't know if they will hold up any better. Is anyone running a level 3" lift with HWMS? Im too cheap for coilovers and just want a better spring rate coil.IMG_20140720_163510_003.jpg

just curious why 887's? vs 886's i don't really know the difference but wouldn't one be longer, or wider i think someone even mentioned rubbing the CV boot but im not sure how that would happen? and which stoop setting on the billy's would i use, there is 4. also, what is a good place to buy the springs at a decent price?

887s are 3" coils with 590 lb rates. 885 is a 2.5" coil with 590 lb rates. 886 is the same lift as 885 but much stiffer.

If you don't have a plate bumper, winch, sliders you might find the 886 way too stiff.

if i go with a 3" coil will i need a different perch for the strut? but yea i don't have a lot of extra weight other than the winch, and the supercharger i just bought soon (they're discontinuing it i bought one of 9 left in the whole country) but if you're saying the 887's are the same spring rate why wouldn't I go with the same size (diameter) thats on there which I'm taking it is 2.5? I'm just not sure how any of these compare because i couldn't find a p/n for the eibachs have.

this is the kit i have. http://toyteclifts.3dcartstores.com/Bilstein-Adjustable-lift-kit-with-5100-shocks_p_132.html

EDIT: eibachs rated at 620 lbs.

If the Eibachs aren't doin it for ya, I'd think OME 886s would be your best bet. I have 887s on my 4x4 DCSB and after a month I have settled a bit (my guess is right around 2.75 inches). So, with added weight, my truck would probably sit around 2.5 inches up front...that's just a guess though. Are you opposed to just adding a small top plate spacer to get the extra half inch? Seems that would be the easiest (although maybe not the best)

I have the billet top plates on from the toytec kit 3/4" on one side for "taco lean" and 1/2" on the other, tried adding strut spacers when it began to sag and nearly took of a finger, the asy wouldn't fit with the 2.5' spacer on top of suspension lift...

Oh wait, don't the Eibachs alone only add something like 1.6 inches? In that case don't do more spacer lol

"1.5" or 3" lift kit with Eibach front coils (3" average lift is achieved with coils and setting the shock adjustment on the second C clip setting from the bottom) " is what it says on toytec's site for my eibachs. from what I've been reading if I run the 886's I will have a somewhat stiff ride and I need to set my C clip all the way at the bottom for the coil perch.
