Hmmmm interested to see if the lift does have anything to do with it. I hope it dosnt/doubt it does. I have full ome/886s/ Dakar leafs.

I'm also running OME 885 with nitro charger shocks.

But why would the lift matter?

The question I would ask is, when the suspension is under full compression, where are the bump stops?

I had factory bumps when damage occurred. But the simple fact remains that before I could fully stuff the wheel the UCA was binding.

Perhaps the binding issue was a difference in how the LCA cams were adjusted on each truck? A difference in alignment then. That makes most sense to me.

Weathertech mats, BAMF sliders, US Offroad front winch bumper, RCI Alum. Skid plates, ICON suspension, Pelfreybilt rear bumper, JBA uca's, Allpro u-bolt flip,
The adjustment cams don't change the orientation of the uca's. They only move the lca's.

Yes. You're right. I realize my logic error. Since the UCA pivots exclusively on the UCA bolt, the only option to create additional clearance it to change the shape of the UCA to clear the coil bucket. Marlin said he was testing on (3) trucks and had not seen the clearance issue on them. I guess the answer that makes sense would be variation from the factory. :notsure:

Shouldn't be that much of a variation. When installing UCA's, youre supposed to cycle them by hand up/down to check clearance issues with anything. This should have been done during product development, and if clearance was found to be close (1/4" or so), things should have been changed. Honestly, seems this UCA's was just a copy of the OEM one, then made with more material, thus increasing thickness and causing issues.

The binding issue described was with the original design of the a-arms which have a shorter radius and are of similar in shape/design to competitors products like the AP a-arms. I will be test fitting and hopefully installing the latest version of the HD a-arms tomorrow and will be using the method you described to test clearance. Believe me, I wish I had done that simple procedure to catch the issue in the beginning and avoid the pain of doing it a second time and now with bent parts that may have to be cut out. I'm not looking forward to it, not how I want to spend my day off from work. :(

Probably have the only 2nd Gen with an 8274 in the world.
Damn, I think I might buy these after all - that's pretty hard to beat customer service-wise!

I contacted him today and asked him about a new redesign and this is the response I got. "Hi Dan

Yes, We have 10 new sets (7.0.10) in stock with the tube bent out to miss the strut tower. I started shipping the new design on June 28th.

I will be contacting all who purchased the old version (7.0.00) and replacing them. The 7.0.10 arms were welded in the same jig so the fitment will be the same as 7.0.00 arms.

    Thanks
Marlin Gehman". Looks like I'm gonna order them after all

:deadhorse: I know I know but I'm gonna have to ask. I ordered a set of these. I have a ome lift 886 coils. Running 285/75r16s. What should I get my alignment numbers to. Looks like about 2.4*-3* caster an 0s everything else? Just wandering. I already rub the flare back by the cab mount. I have to trim more but I already trimmed a little. Thanks sorry for beating the horse

I just ordered mine a couple of weeks ago, still in the box at home waiting for installation. After reading through this thread last night I had one of those "oh, crap" feelings, and sent a quick email off via the jbaoffroad.com website, probably around 8:30PM. I had a response at 3:22AM, and tracking numbers by email at 4:15AM.

While I knew I was taking a bit of a risk with a "new" offering, I hoped that coming from an established company with some history would help if there were issues. I am happy to see that working out, this is far more than anything I would have expected these days. Very stand up response to a problem, I feel more comfortable with the decision.

and here's the trail of fun-
    1: stock
    2: JBA#1 - fawked
3: JBA#2 - received these before they realized there would still be a clearance issue
4: JBA#3 - big, bad, good clearance - time will tell

Thanks. Glad you got it done. I'll be doing this in about 10 hours from now. Did you have to cut the bolts? Any tips for removal?
