i just got myself a cb from a friend and just wanna see how some people mounted theirs in their truck. I got a first gen, i don't know if the interoir of these is dramatically differnt from a newer truck, but if you wanna post pics of your second gen with the cb mounted, this would be great too:D thank in advance

Also, for the people that ran the cord through the back window (i think most) does your back window shut all the way, cuase mine doesnt. is their a way to get it to shut all the way

    None, yet
No help mounting, but...Get an SWR meter, and use it to adjust your antenna after you've decided where the final antenna location will be (if you move the antenna, you'll need to re-adjust). Also, read the instructions for the antenna. I just put a CB in my bus, and the antenna called for 18 feet of cable between the antenna and the CB. I could not get the SWR reading right without the extra cable. i believe that if you don't match the antenna you can damage the transmit circuit. Spend a couple extra bucks and get an adjustable antenna- they have a threaded part to adjust. The cheaper ones must be trimmed, and there's no going back!! Pretty sure you can't use the meter in the CB, buy or borrow an external meter. Shop around at truck stops and you should find one for $15-20. Or see if you can borrow one.

depending on the size.......it may fit in the bottom console.....outta the way of everything, and outta sight. it will mount up and down...when you open the console, you'll be looking at the face of it.

Replaced chrome badges with Sockmonkey black badges, painted billet grill black, K&N cold air intake, my corner light turn signal circuit, Speedfreek traction bars, RAAMaudio BXT/Ensolite, Stereo: Kenwood KIV-701 USB/Bluetooth deck, 10" Pioneer shallow sub behind the rear seat, Infinity 6822cf 6x8 front and rear doors, Fosgate P400-2 (sub), US Acoustics USX-4065 (four main speakers)
And you may have one big grommet underneath the driver's seat. I used that grommet to run my coax cable out of the cab in my 03 double cab, but don't know if the Xcab has the same grommet. I zip tied the coax underneath the frame and brought it back up between the bed and cab.

I use a small hand held ham radio (cup holder mount) so I don't have any input for you on location.
