    Hey Guys,

First post, thanks for all of the posts and now countless hours of doing research and reading everybody's $.02 on modifications and lifts.

I purchased my Tacoma about 6 weeks ago and I bought my ToyTech ultimate lift kit the other day with new LR Upper Control Arms (UCAs) for factory alignment, 2" AAL, ToyTech rear boss shocks.

I know what wheels I want - KMC - XD Addict and the tires I was planning to put on it was Nitto Terra Grappler G2 285/70/17. - subject to change depending upon the replys within this post

My biggest concern is rubbing with this set-up. I have read some people say that they rub and others say that they clear just fine. The only difference I can think of would be the offset of the wheels they had purchased with combination of their tires. This particular wheel has two options of offset -12 or +18.

This changes the backspacing by about 1.25 inches (roughly). I have heard some say that they rub the UCA with the +18 offset (basically, won't fit on the truck) and others say they rub the frame with the -12. I'm torn because both will fit my truck (according to the local shop).

However, I want no rubbing and I will not do any frame modifications on my truck with 1,000 miles on it. Can anybody attest to which of these two configurations will prevent rubbing?

Thanks for the information and posts, you guys seem like a helpful group...for the most part, so bring on the noob comments and how to use the search bar links...

cus they dont actually go flex their truck.... biggest suspension movment their truck sees is a speedbump straight on.

    285/70/17s will rub for sure.

Plan on cab mount chop, inner fender removal and pinch weld bent over to make it clear everything.

I am also sorry you spent 1200 bucks on a toytec ultimate lift kit which is really glorified 5100's.... you can get an icon stage 1 which is fully rebuildable proper coilover setup for not much more.

If you do not want to rub... stick with the 265/75R16 265/70R17 ... you MIGHT be able to fit something like a 255/85R16 in with less rubbing than the 285/70R17

    To conclude this thread :

285/70/17 Nitto Terra Grappler G2s and XD Addict wheels with a -12 offset : resulted in the Cab Mount Chop (CMC) and multiple fender cuts to eliminate the rubbing.
