I just bought a used set of 285-70/17 Kelly Safari TSR tires and I went to get them mounted on my stock 17 inch rims today and they would not fit on the truck. They were too wide, they touched the UCA. I purchase 1.5 inch hub centric spacers from ebay. Does anyone know if this will be enough clearance to fit these tires on stock rims. I do have a 3 inch spacer lift on my 2012 Tacoma DCSB. Thanks in advance.

    BF Goodrich All-Terrain 265 / 70 / R16 are great. .... in your case, you would want R17.
I'm on my second set. A little pricey, but worth it.
They will last a long time if you rotate every 8,000 - 10,000 miles.
They are great for gravel roads. Great in bad weather (rain and snow)..
And they are 10ply which is nice if you carry weight in the bed or always have people riding.
not to mention... they look bad ass

The only negative is, they are a little more stiff than 8 ply tires.

This appears to be a sales pitch, nothing to do with my original question.

yeah they will clear the UCA with wheel spacers.

You may need to trim some of the fender/bumper though. That is just a maybe...seems to be a little different from truck to truck.

Where are the common spots people have to trim. Any pictures would be great.

here are the pics I took of mine. Might be easiest to compare these photos to your truck now. Barely any trimming needed behind the wheel (first photo), but in the front near the bumper (second photo) a lot had to be taken off.image.jpg image.jpg

What did you use to trim it? How long did it take? Thanks for the pics.

I had a local body shop do it because I don't really have any tools, $40. I think some sort of dremel would be ideal though
