Bought 1,000 rounds of Magtech 115gr FMC 9mm ammo today, $226 shipped.
Seemed like a decent deal for range or target practice. Anyone ever used this ammo? Reviews were decent but I must admit I don't know much about what brands are worth it.

Check out the side by side review Colion Noir did of the two; short version: out of the box he considers the shield a better gun, but with a couple tweeks prefers to carry the 43.

Yeah, I saw it. Kinda thinking the 43, cause I hopped on the xds45 - and it turned out to be junk. It had to be sent back to SF 3 times. Now, I am kinda scared to use it as my carry piece. I'd better stick to what I know and I've never had problems with Glocks. Even tho the wife loves her s&w mp9c for her daily.

I was thinking that too since I have a g19 already but the shield just had so many good reviews and felt slimmer and not as bulky in my hand. I needed something slimmer that didn't print so much.

That's my next purchase G43. Have you shot it yet? What did you think? Do you CC it? What do you think? Any dislikes?

I've shot it a lot. I love it. I'm good from 3-7 yards. (That's what my range has for markers). But once you get me around 10 yards it's all over the target. Now, I don't claim to be a great shooter either. But it's definitely a close quarters CCW for me. Duh right?

Now I only say that because some people carry bigger CCW pistols. Take my G19 for example. People carry it all the time. And I'm a good shot up to and beyond 10 yards. They are completely different beasts.

I really didn't like the shield for a CCW. I like the Shield, just not for a CCW. It just felt too big like my G19. Of course I just needed a reason to buy the 43.
