I also added the TT base plates to two of my magazines. Giving it 7+1 and it doesn't add any bulk to the gun. (They also make an 8+1). And got my Tulster Holster IWB. Fyi- I'm also a Glock Fanboy. I'll admit it. I don't bash on any other guns. I even want the M&P .22. But I just love simple ugly Glocks.

Sweet, I haven't seen a bad reviews yet. Have you seen this guys review HickOk45? http://youtu.be/8pHdg4F15aQ This guy is an animal when it comes to shooting. He makes most people look like bad shots. Thanks for the feedback.

Zero dislikes except for facts that you already know. Of course I wish it held more rounds. But I have a G19 and I could've bought the G26. I love the size of the G43 for CC. It's so thin. The only real downside is gripping the gun while shooting. Your non trigger hand is kinda in a weird position. You can't really lay your thumb on top because it'll hit the slide. If that makes sense? If you can't find a G43, maybe hold a G42 and you'll get the idea. But my shooting hand fits perfect with or without pinky extension. (Also, the G42 and 43 shoot completely different in my opinion. I actually like the 42 trigger better for some reason. But I can't really explain it. ).

Other that that I'm sure you can watch YouTube videos. The G43 is a badass little gun. And if you love Glocks then you're probably like me and have to get one. That's what it came down to. I HAD to have one. And with it being "rare" for the time being it gets a lot of attention at both my shooting ranges. I realize it's not rare. But KC gets about 8ish total each month and most of them are already bought or claimed before they even get out on the shelf. And of course you can get a MP Shield for $150 less and have a great gun. But, I needed a Glock.

Ha! Heck yeah. I'm a dork and watch all Hickok45 videos. I even use Ballistol for my field strip cleaning and lubricant. That dude makes shooting 43 and 26 look easy. There no way I can shoot my 43 even in the same ballpark as him. He's shooting 60 yards and hitting his mark with it. If you lived near KC I would just let you shoot it.

Thanks for the detailed reply I appreciate it. Have fun with your new gun. Hope mine will be in my hands soon. Have a few local gun shops looking for me one. They are hard to find around here right now. Maybe that's a good sign.

Trent check out gallery of guns. Basically you pay for a deposit online and then you pick it up at the shop you choose. Sometimes the gun isn't in stock at the distributor but you can normally sign up for a notification when it gets there

So what do you prefer for everyday CC the 43 or the 26? I carry a 26 and I've heard the trigger and grip like you said were issues on the 43.

The thing is with glocks, if you wanted to own two guns (carry and range/nightstand) it made sense to buy into the same system, whether it be glock, m&p, etc where you could get a smaller gun and the mags, parts, and just overall feel transfer between the two guns.

With the 43, shield, and others everything is proprietary so when you buy it, you are essentially starting from the beginning with everything other than takedown procedure essentially.

I'm a wuss when it comes to CC size. I'll admit it. The 19 is way to big to CC IWB for me. The 26 is still just a little to thick also with the grip. And obviously we are talking millimeters but still. I like a thin gun (aka single stack for IWB). That's where the Shield and now the 43 fit nice for me.

I bought 4 extra magazines for my 43. But the above post is right. At least with the 26 you're able to use a 19 or 17 magazine.

Magtech ammo is a bit on the dirty side but it goes bang when you pull the trigger. While I tend to prefer PMC over Magtech for range time, I think I've still got about 1500 rounds of Magtech in the safe.

Exactly! After watching Hickok45 do his review I thought I'd be hitting bullseye from 20-30 yards. Nope. This is definitely my under 10 yard gun. I need to keep practicing. If you're coming from an G17,19 or any lager 1911 or even Beretta youll find these little "compact" carry pistols will drive you nuts with your accuracy at first.

I actually felt like the g43 felt thicker in my hand than the shield and the shield printed less (for me) I wanted something much slimmer than my g19 cause it really was too big to carry for me even though many people carry it. Plus for under $400 for the shield out the door is a deal ;).

Not really worried about my accuracy with it

I need to run some rounds thru it so I know it functions and what ammo it likes so I can start carrying it...I've had a 42 for about a year and it has probably 1000 rounds thru it and the accuracy wasn't and isn't an issue with it

I don't really look at the sights or take long drawn out aim and fire shots or shoot further than about 15 yards or so out

If I can't point shoot or at least shoot only using the front sight...a pistol won't be carried
