FEELAH 2.0 *center console charger port kits*

So I am trying to come up with something to sell to you guys, make a little money for future mods .

Awhile back I installed an always hot charging port inside my center console.

I used all OEM parts for a clean and original look.

The port lid is self closing, and I can offer instructions on installation.

Would you guys be interested if I came up with some sort of wiring kit on this?

Yes, some of you are thinking: "this is an easy mod, I can do this in a weekend"

I understand that. but many of us are not savvy when it comes to wiring. For those, I would like to offer a kit, using all OEM parts to install an always hot charging port inside the center console.

Why inside the center console? cause some of us like to charge out phone while we are away from out trucks.

I could provide full length wiring, connections, part, inline fuse and fuse to wire directly to a battery.

If you have an auxiliary fuse box, then I wont offer the inline fuse.

The self closing lid is about $10 and the charging port is $30.

Let's add another $10 for inline fuse, misc parts, wire, etc.

Just parts it comes up to $50 bucks.

Labor?

Idk, im trying to figure that out.

If I get at least 10 people interested, ill make one or two kits, send to some lucky hamsters at no labor charge, just pay parts and shipping for you to critique and comment.

If this takes off, Ill save receipts and post so you can see how much I am making per kit.

I'd be more interested in something in the same area that provided both 110v and 2 amp usb charging. I was just looking at parts to do something like that, but just the charger/socket is in the $25 range. Where I usually run into problems is when I have several people riding with me and we all need to charge our phones at once, with no car chargers.

In. Although I would have to find a different mounting spot. Can't have it on the bottom of my center console. LOL

 

Why not use a USB hub instead of the charger port? That would be more useful.

Yep - maybe daisy-chained from the USB port at the bottom of the dash - would like to leave my iPod plugged in all the time, hidden in the glove box.

 

I just ordered this off ebay $2.75 and will be installing on the back of my center console!
Some where towards center but above the slits! running it to the fuse box directly! this way anyone or anything that needs a usb connector will have it

I would of just done a 12v socket there to be more versatile.

 

Forsure. We all do our OWN types of mods to make the trucks unique. But everything is usb these day, so that's why I choose it.

 

Exactly and thats what makes your truck yours!

Id grab a 12v port than a good quality 12v dual USB charger so i can move the charger around anywhere i wish. Its how all the rest of my items on my truck are as far as electrical, Completely modular and able to be used on other vehicles.


BUT like you stated.... EVERYTHING is on usb these days and will get used for sure, if you were to put that dual charger at the back of the center console, It put a small switch inside the console so you could turn the ports on or off and wire it to a constant hot so you could charge without needing the truck to be on.
