I know this has been discussed a million times for prior years, but obviously with the news that the 2016's will have the TRD OR in DCLB, new shit is popping up for 2016!

Curious if we could get a breakdown of stuff we 100% know will be different between the TRD Sport and Offroad

    Exactly.

90% of people on this forum don't even read lol, they just post and bitch. There is tons of new shit this year with the TRD sport vs OR, just wanted to help compile a list.

Looks like new this year for TRD OR is the crawl control assist and long bed. Anything else?

First I heard of this, by 'long bed' you mean the 6 ft. bed on a double cab... with the OFF ROAD TRD package?

That will sure hurt SPORT sales, as the reason people get SPORT TRDs is often for the longer bed.

For newbies: Sport TRDs have no traction advantages over all other Tacoma models, but Off Road TRDs have A-TRAC (near locking front and rear traction control), Rear Locking Differential, and the hydraulic brake booster (for strong traction-brake action at low speeds).

I'm guessing the biggest differences between the 4x4 sport and off-road, in order of importance will be
    1) hood scoop.
    2) A-TRAC
    3) Rear locker
    4) Crawl control / multi-terrain select.
    5) Tires/rims
    6) Suspension tuning
    7) Color matched trim pieces and bumpers
    8) Access cab V6 manual transmission only available with TRD sport

I fish a ton, I could honestly see a few scenarios where I wouldn't mind it for launching a boat on some of the hairy boat ramps around here

I hope only the Sport gets the Bold Hood Scoop.

TLDR, I don't want the hood scoop.

I know haha. Made my day!! Was set on the TRD Spot long bed simply because I need a long bed for my boat (pontoon I haul in the truck bed).

And its only $500 more than the short bed

You haul a pontoon boat in the bed of your truck? How's that work?

Pick it up and place it in the bed. Do it right now with a 98 ranger (6ft bed) and it works perfect. Long bed tacoma is also 6ft. Not having to use use a trailer saves a fuck ton on gas, ferry fees, parking, etc.

Pic of two boats in the bed (one is deflated in the truck bed in this pic, underneath the green pontoon boat you see):

I don't think of that as a pontoon boat. I think of this. These are crazy popular around here
