    Correct, they are the new setup that promotes more air pressure & lower/cooler air temperature.

    My buddy has this new version on his 200 Series Land Cruiser. The body is a lot bigger and does help keep air temperatures a lot lower, not sure if he's seen bumped up HP numbers but he said he felt better throttle response as well as peppier off the line acceleration.

    $5 says no performance gains will be seen. I'm talking verifiable gains, not "seat of the pants" gains. People only report gains in attempt to justify cutting holes into their vehicles and spending the money on snorkels.

    I would like to let it be known; I am not against snorkels. I just realize that the actual scoop on the snorkel bleeds off some air for when it rains and the 90* bend the air must take to enter the body of the vehicle will negate any positive air pressure that is made by the scoop while driving at speed.

    I just learned from my vendor that this will probably be delayed until the end of the year. ARB took the product back to the drawing board after receiving too much negative feedback on the size of the snorkel relative to the Tacoma's fender & body, it looks like they will redesign it to be slimmer like the previous model.

    It did appear unnecessarily large considering the size of the Hilux model that had been retrofitted to work on the Tacomas.

    I have mine being retro fitted right now. I have had snorkels on my land rovers and they do save on the dust intake.

    Not sure who your vendor is but this doesn't sound right... Honestly, a lot of time and money goes in to R&D. It's hard to believe that Safari Snorkel's would go back to the drawing board. I don't think it looks bad, I kind of like the look of it. The 200 Series Snorkel is HUGE a s well, and it looks amazing.

    On a side note, got my 4WD Toyota Owner magazine yesterday. Check this out.. Lucky 4th & 5th Gen 4Runners..!!
