    :annoyed:

It's crazy how little jobs pay these days compared to the cost of living on the front range now. I guess if I wasn't renting and bought a house before the surge in prices it wouldn't matter.

    But still, :annoyed:

Didn't they already surge? I heard the market is ridiculous for buyers, you have to put in an offer for over the asking price.

I did. It looked kind of small for a dual battery box. But we will see how they fit. Not sure how I'm going to mount it yet.

That's fine I'm trained in disarming bombs. "Note trained" never did a live one. :D

The surge continues. When we bought our house last summer we ended up offering 2.5% over asking price and that wasn't even the highest total offer. I just overheard a co-worker talking about receiving offers for $20K over asking. The sad thing is that you have to cover that excess in cash, something that can be a very tall order.

I have realtor friends who tell me stories about getting 38 valid offers after an 8 hour showing getting over 30-40k over asking on say a 300k house. One time he walked up to the house the morning of a showing and there was a line of like 20 people to see it he started walking around the line to open the house and people bitched at him to get to the back of the line lol; they didn't realize he was the realtor.

Another friend of mine is a realtor up in boulder he says he's moving average location houses for $650-700/sq ft.

Sounds about right. When you consider that, according to the NPR piece I heard this morning, rent in the Denver area has gone up 25% over the last 3 years, it makes sense to some degree to buy. Of course when people are just throwing money around like it's no big deal (remind anyone of the 2006 real estate market?) it swings the pendulum in the other direction again.

My house has increased almost 25% in two years and we are in the process of refinancing. The market is ridiculous at the moment, I would not want to be a buyer.

Ditto on not wanting to be a buyer. My house has increased ~20% in less than a year. Madness!

There should be more people willing to "fix up" and remodel some of the older or more run down homes, I know I was looking at "move in ready" homes, but there were foreclosures in my neighborhood where someone could make easy money with a little investment.

    Stuff and junk and things...

I closed April 1st this year. Was ridiculous to get a house under contract, we had to offer over on every single house.

The employment compensations are beginning to rise to match the cost of living(housing). I just gave my employees a .50 cent raise to help them out. I'll be giving another .25 cents in 30 days.

Refied ours in November. Went w/ a 15 year, just over 3%, and our payments still dropped a few hundred dollars a month. I don't think we could rent a three bedroom apartment for the same as we're paying for a our 5 bedroom, 3.5 bath, 3 car garage w/ all the good finishes. :D
