Fox 2.5 coilover lift, are my UCAs supposed to be angled that far down?uca1.jpg uca.jpg

When you lift the truck up, the UCAs drop down to provide the lift. Do your UCA's contact the coilover? I'm pretty sure I've read that with Fox 2.5s new UCAs are strongly recommended for clearance (and proper alignment).

Isn't this why guys put in different UCA's like the icon ones?

I plan on doing total chaos UCAs but still seems like they should sit level, based on what I've seen on other tacos. No they don't make contact at any point right now but if I want to go up further they will hit. I saw one truck that looked like it had an extension off the UCA ball to bring the front up, however have not found any info on that sort of thing

They can't sit level because the knuckle drops with the longer/stiffer coilover in there. Aftermarket UCAS will also put the upper ball joints (or uniball) at a better angle so they aren't maxed out at full droop.

Thats a lot of lift, these companies recommend you swap to an aftermarket upper control arm to help with the issue you have, the stock ball joint is not designed for that angle.

You have more lift than I do and I am not running stuck uppers. you have very little down travel now too.

So probably be best to come back down a bit until I get new UCAs?

If you are a 4x4 you cant go over 3 inches of lift or your CVs will break every month

Also coilovers arnt really designed to give you more than 3 inches of lift. and the more you preload the less up travel and a harsher ride

Yeah makes sense, I was worried about that, I think ill go down 2 inches, then set it at 3 once control arms come in
