I wish I would have known about this Sly Bracket, blast! My dealer also did the self-tapping screw mod into the front bumper for me so I have two nice little holes up front.

Thanks for the pics guys, definitely a few good options here. I wish I lived in a state where that law didn't apply!

Kudos also on the Sly Brackets. Got one, but I'm still not running a front license plate. That Pro front just begs to not have one :D

Out here in VA I got a ticket for the license plate in the windshield. I moved from a state where front plate not required, so I didn't have mounting brackets. I just zip tied it to the lower valance. Not permanent but kept the cops at bay.

I haven't been running a front plate for years even though my state requires it. I dug into the laws and found that if the vehicles construction prohibits the ability to attach a plate, one is not required. Since my truck didn't come with a bracket, no front plate. I have been pulled for it and had the cop look up the code and he agreed. This was for Washington state, maybe there is something for Colorado?

I just purchased a 2015 Tacoma Prerunner Double Cab 4x2 V6. I noticed when I got home my front license plate was installed crooked.

    DSC_3448-processed_3a96ebca014bec543475e550f044338d6c07ba8e.jpg

I needed to come back a few days later to have some options installed so I let my service person know I wasn't happy with the crooked license plate. I wanted a new bumper cover installed no holes drilled. I didn't want a bunch of holes drilled to straighten it out.

My Tacoma came from another dealer because they didn't have the color I wanted in stock.

It took about 2 weeks for both dealers to figure out a solution. The dealer that my Tacoma came from was going to pay for a new bumper cover and they were going to pay the bill. I had a rental car a Camry free for 2.5 days.

    It's fixed now.

I will install the Sly Brackets.

Mine was drilled directly into the front bumper from the dealer. I drove through a large body of muddy water and it ripped right out. Lost it forever.

I discovered the sly bracket too late as well. Only a few days after taking possession of the truck and cursing those barbaric screws in my front bumper.

I will still probably get one someday and just figure out a way to patch the holes in a manner that doesn't look like total shite.

A good solution is 2 bolts in the holes and 2 strong magnets on the plate. You can keep it in the cab and just magnetically attach as needed when you park it downtown.

I've thought about that.. Any idea where to get good magnets? Home Depot/Lowes?

Sly Bracket FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great product, maybe kind of expensive for what it is, but well engineered and great CS.

I've ganked hundreds of people for warrants, driving suspended, gotten several stolens, and gotten a metric shit ton of registration violations; because I can run tags both ways with a front plate.

As a motorist you may not give a shit or may even dislike the front plate but from an enforcement standpoint they are great.

If someone ever steals your truck and it's only visible to a passing officer from the front, you'll be real glad there's a front tag on it.

Had the same thing happen to me. Went months without a front plate. Finally went and got it replaced and stuffed it up on my dash/windshield so as not to lose it again...got pulled over for not having it mounted properly within 3 days...

Totally understandable; I just hate the way it looks!!! It makes the truck look like it's some buck-toothed yokel

Were you able to order just a single plate replacement? In California, you must order completely new set of plates if you lose one. PITA updating all insurance and other documents.

I had to get a brand new set. Was hoping to get a replacement to try and avoid all that.

I just run without it and when I need to park downtown I do the magnet trick.

I got a hidden front hitch and my plate is mounted in the hitch mount. Basically stock location and covers the holes drilled in the bumper.
