My dad bought a new KIA Spectra back in 2005 and the car was abused by my dad until he passed it down to me at 160K. I put about 50K on it in about 2 years from driving 1000 miles every other weekend and it never left me stranded. Last year I got my first taco 2011 sr5 6 speed and the kia was passed down to my cousin. The damn thing still runs and I would not hesitate to take it on the 1000 mile weekend drive. The odometer stopped counting, the speedometer stopped working, the air conditioner stopped working, and the driver door won't open from the inside but still runs like a champ at 90MPH with no abnormal vibrations. Not bad for 15K huh? To date it has been the most reliable vehicle I have owned and I hope my Tacoma treats me better than the spectra!

Not bad, but Honda and Toyota cars do that and speedos, ODOs, AC, and doors still work.

My first car 88 Mazda RX-7 hatchback. Got it with 98k on it. I beat the living shit out of that car. Constant balls to the walls slamming on accelerator, taking turns twice the speed limit and finding the limits of the car as any 16 yr old would, wrecked it twice. She finally gave out at 138k, but most vehicles could not withstand the beatings that could. Great vehicle.

I wish they would bring back the RX-7. The RX-8 just never really did anything for me

1996 Tacoma with the 22R engine. It had 280,000 miles and still had the original headlights. The only major repair was replacement of the timing chain and water pump at 200,000 miles. I sold it and the next owner got another 80,000 miles before wrecking it.

1995 Nissan Pathfinder, I put 990,000 km on that truck until the cat rusted on the top and caught my driver side carpet on fire one night while driving home. My wife said it smelt like burning yogurt, I turned on a map light and looked down to see my shoe melted to the carpet. I drove it to a friends house, cut out the carpet, put in a silicon oven glove and drove it home with one shoe on. The next day I took it to the dealer who gave me a $1000 towards my first 2007 Tacoma. I miss that truck, and my shoes, they were good shoes.

As of right now it's been my 2010 Honda Fit base model. I owned it for 2 years and put 50k on it with zero problems other than the stock dungflops were bald at 19k. I beat the hell out of that car with red line shifts. It didn't have traction control so it was fun to do burn outs with the bald tires. Only real issue it had when I traded it in was the driver seat foam was broken down. Paid $14k before tax and title, traded it in for $13.5k on a 2012 Mustang V6. Should've kept that little car, it would have been paid for when I bought my Tacoma and would have been a great commuter. I'm sure my Tacoma will surpass the Honda.

My 1988 Ford Ranger 4x4 was also a great truck. It had the dreaded A4LD automatic in it and was my first vehicle. I put 60k on it(had 100K when I got it) without putting anything into it other than fixing a transmission leak. Transmission shit the bed at 160k but I think a combination of hard off roading and having the transmission overheat from low fluid killed it early. I beat the piss out of that truck and took it places people with modified Toyota's wouldn't go. I learned good tires and skill was more important than having a bro lift. If I ever have more time and space, I'll get another one of these Rangers to beat on in the mountains. Swap in a 302/C4 combo, Exploder D35 front and 8.8 rear with a mild lift and Detroit and it will be kicking ass.

96 Honda accord. Got it at 100,000 and abused the fuck out of it for 80,000. Only ever had to replace radiator and wheel bearing, I wish I had never sold it. Love me my taco to, though I actually take care of it.

The Taco has been the most reliable vehicle I've owned. Haven't had any problems with it except the chirping fan.

That's why the Saturn brand was discontinued. GM had a reputation to keep.

My 01'4-Runner. Other than a set of spark plug wires and a brake caliper (which was my fault) I've done nothing to it except oil changes.

My 1984 Toyota FJ60 Land Cruiser. 380,000+ miles, very few repairs and was easy to work on. It got stolen out of the Walmart parking lot in Laredo, Texas and taken across the border into Mexico. I wish I could get ahold of the a-hole that stole it.
That vehicle is the main reason I bought my Taco.

I'm surprised to hear you had no problems. I loved these cars, but they had issues. Also expensive to fix. Very quick, live the rotary motor

2007 Honda Civic, put 119k on it over 4 years with absolutely nothing but oil and tire changes. Totalled as it sat in a parking lot :(

Too early to call on my Taco, only had it for a year and 12k but it's been flawless so far. My other Tacos (2001, 2004) also were flawless but I didn't have either long enough to really rate them.

So far mine was a 1995 Ford F-150 XL, manual transmission with the Inline 6 engine think it was a 4.9L. It was my first truck and lasted me through high school and almost all the way through college with only minor maintenance ever needed. Lost control driving too fast one night, did a 180 and ran it off the road backwards, hit a tree and totalled it with about 130,000 milles on it. Instead of claiming it had the truck fixed and drove it till it had about 175,000 on it when I hit another tree head on and totaled it out for good. Motor was barely sitting in the truck and it would still crank right up and go in gear to be moved. Couldn't turn it due to the bumper covering the front tires though. I miss that truck all the time and wish I still had it. I would have kept it forever if I hadn't been young and dumb back in the day driving like an idiot!
