for having 2 colors of Tacomas that I can't decide between. As you read in another thread (Dilemma!!!) I'm trying to decide between MGM and SSM ... The SSM is sitting there at the lot, the MGM is about 2-3 weeks out.

I go by there everyday and look at the 2 colors (they have a MGM Sport, but I want Off Road) ... One minute its take the SSM home now and the next it's wait for the MGM.

The MGM is actually the color I REALLY like, but I've only ever owned white vehicles and I'm scared that the MGM will be too much of a jump at one time. I'm also scared of the fact that every little scratch, nick, dent, piece of dirt will show. I know, I know its a truck, but I'm scared when I get the first little scratch that shows up i'll just neglect the truck and not take care of it.

Is it true that the MGM will be a "hotter" truck? Living in south Florida, I don't need anything to "add" heat lol

    I need help guys/gals

I think either color is the extreme. White will show ever spec of dirt, but may hide light scratches a bit better. The MGM will hide the dirt a bit better, but will probably show normal wear and tear a bit more. If you want a color that hides things well, I'd say silver is your best bet.

As far as the mgm being hotter, yes it will be. At least on the exterior. Can't tell you how many times I have rolled down my window and burned my arm on the door of my indigo ink....

It's actually amazing what a difference the color can make related to the heat. I have a black and a white vehicle in my driveway sitting next to each other, and on a sunny day I can hold my hand on the white car as long as I want, but on the black car I burned my hand to where it actually hurt when touching the black car.
Other than that, both are great colors and the heat thing is not really a big deal; the AC is very effective.
    Good luck!

My MGM showed scratches easily even on a 2015 with 5k miles the door handle well had scratches from my wedding ring that were clear as day. Its an awesome color ssm I think looks better with black rims and built.

Get the SSM while you can. If you wait, the MGM could be sold before you get a chance at it, and by then the SSM will have been sold, forcing you to buy used or a more expensive 2016.

I have always been a white vehicle person. You don't really notice HOW dirty it is until you actually go and wash it.

Took my truck down some dusty forestry roads to go camping last weekend got home and was surprised at how "clean" the truck was. Washed it a couple of days later and was surprised just how dirty it really was. A friend of mine did the same trek in his black 4runner and it looked filthy as soon as we got back on paved roads. Have to admit I have always liked black vehicles but I hate that unless they are spotlessly clean they look filthy.

As for the heat speaking from the same camping trip both vehicles were left in the sun to cook and when we were leaving the interior of my truck was hot but manageable, my buddy's interior was so warm we had to open all the doors to let it air out.

MGM is tough to beat when clean, key word there is "when".

    Ahhhh clickbait thread!

I'm partial to MGM but that's only because I always picture white trucks as being work trucks. That's just me though, get what your heart tells you

My MGM shows scratches very easily imo.
Silver by far will not show dirt or scratches
White would seem the coolest color for the South but what would I know I live in Vermont. :)

Agreed. I returned home from a camping trip down a very dusty logging road. My tires really showed the dust, but the truck (from a distance) looked clean. A colleague even commented "did you wash your truck"?

If you leave a white truck for months in the rain it will get that grimy film but most of the time works out just fine and definitely hides the swirl marks.

There's no hate here and so no need to get defensive.

Some people get defensive real easy so I chimed in and also deleted my post which was even more DB'ish

Now that I know you have thick skin, your thread sucks and if you choose anything other than white you'll regret it.
