As my family is growing (wife, dog, baby and myself) I am finding that the truck isn't enough room. While I normally travel with a backpack by the time I am done packing the truck I feel as though we are nomads packing up everything we own for the weekend. I am not in love with the idea of a cap for the truck because I love the look of it with my trifecta on. My next thought is a roof basket, anyone have any experience with the Go Rhino products?

That's a sweet basket! I just don't like the fact that you need to buy a rack to set it on. I'm really diggin the prinsu racks though...have you seen those??

I already have the factory roof racks so this would go well on it. I will have a look at those racks as well!

Quit screwing around and just put a cap on it, then a basket on the cap, then a hitch-haul in the rear receiver hitch. I've even seen another hitch-haul in a 2nd receiver hitch on the front to balance the weight.

    A little a this, a little a that...
I've got two little kids and a dog. I got a basket rack for my most recent camping trip. It really helped to organize our gear especially when camping in more than one place and putting down a lot of road miles. Best thing about having the factory rack is that it's easy to store the basket when not needed.

That's what I want in the future...looks good and I'd imagine it's pretty handy. Especially during the ski season. Do you like it set up like that or do you wish you had it on the roof?

I'm in the same boat as you. I've been snooping around here and the internets for the past week. I have a dcsb and packed myself, the wife, the toddler and the newborn for a trip home and the interior was jam packed. I bungied a cooler and our overnight bags in the back and thought about how future family trips will look with high chairs, bicycles, playpens, etc strapped down. My truck didn't come with factory roof rails, and at $260-$300 for rails before buying a basket and mounts, I'd be way over budget for a bolt-on improvement. I'm thinking about putting a small basket in the back too. Coincidentally, I have this window open on my computer: http://www.autoanything.com/shop/basket
I'm thinking of getting some of KB Voodoo's bed bars and slapping a basket on top, when the budget allows: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/kb-voodoo-bed-cross-bars-ready-to-ship.324002/

$110 for bed bars looks much better than $260 for roof rails.

    You could also do this.
I like the basket over the bed, less wind noise and drag, no splattered bugs, and easy to load. For ski season I use this.

I talked to Rhino about a group buy and they are interested. We would need at least 20 people and to let them know what rack and at what price we would like. What do you guys think?

I agree 100%. The cap is the best purchase I made for my truck. It's excellent for family trips. You can fit a ton of gear back there and lock it up.

Before going with prinsu check out FrontRunner Vehicle Outfitters also. Much cleaner looking rack IMO. I like the Prinsu and there certainly isn't anything wrong with it. I just like the look of the FrontRunner better. The attachments they offer are endless.

I'll be parting this out soon since I ordered a Relentless Fab bed bar set up. Keeping the LoadWarrior but everything else will change.
