The AP poll has Bama ahead of Teblow and the Gators. I have to agree...

I agree but unfortunately the polls do matter. Even the shitty preseason polls. If you are not ranked high in the pre season then you have little chance of climbing the rankings once the BCS poll comes out. Its a shitty system but its all we got unless some way some how we can get a playoff.

I agree with you for the most part, but last year, Bama (before the collapse) went from pre-season #24 in the AP to the #1 BCS team by week 10. Preseason polls are bullshit, and if you're ranked high you can unfairly stay there longer than you otherwise should, but you can move up if you just win (and have the benefit of a strong conference.)

And I see no difference between La Monroe, La Tech and La State. (No, you don't have to show me the pictures of your trophies again... believe me, I know what NC trophies look like.) Still, it looks like they're not getting as much respect as I predicted.

It doesn't bother me a bit. My UAB friends call us UAT all the time. Technically, that's what we are.

Also, I wasn't comparing those three school in football. That'd just be silly. I'm only saying that the phrasing is the same. Everybody calls Louisiana Tech "La Tech," and Louisiana Monroe "La Monroe." It just makes sense that Louisiana State should be "La State."

Feel free to call us UAT if you want, b/c I'm not going to refer to La State by any other name. Whatever we call each other, we'll be playing for the West in a couple of weeks.

like mws4us said...bama climbed the polls easily...and if i recall correctly...carowhina climbed from unranked to #6 before they decided to remember that they suck and lose the last 5 games of the season...

its possible to climb the polls...just gotta have some help from other teams losing to do it

Beginning this season, the NCAA allows teams to wear home jerseys on the road with the permission of the home team and the conference. (The notion that somebody must wear white went out w/ the black and white television.)

Lane Kiffin asked the SEC and Alabama if Tennessee could wear their puke-orange home jerseys for Saturday's game. The SEC said it was OK, but Bama said, 'FUCK YOU!' and denied the request.

Tennessee could choose to ignore us and suffer a 15 yard penalty on the kickoff and lose a time out, but according to Lane himself:

You're damn right you're not good enough, Lane. Now sit down and STFU!
