nice! thanks man. There are too many pages on there to go through to find the hardware used. Maybe is should be added to the original post on page 1.

Anyway thanks for the feedback. I am mounting mine today.

    Tailgate Anti-Theft Mod.....

I secured stainless hose clamps on both pivot points of the tailgate. Secure them both by positioning the head of the screw downward so it is only accessible from underneath the truck. That means you will have to use a long flat head screwdriver to tighten the clamp from underneath the truck. I did this mod while I was waiting on my tailgate pop n lock to arrive. I'm leaving it on as a extra measure and it doesn't hinder the functionality of the tailgate.

Good mod but you really only need one on the right side.

Opened exhaust, and more to come!!!
I'm new here and just came across this thread. Thought I would share what I did. In total I've spent about $50 on these mods and soon I will be putting on a new muffler to open her up.

First mod was the exhaust tip. I cut it off of my old truck and had a muffler place weld it on for $10.

    Then spent $8 on VHT
$10 on LED break light bulbs.
$6 on OEM flat black paint
$4 on primer and $5 on silver metallic paint for my splash guard, cause I'm too broke to go buy a skid plate... That's itimage.jpg image.jpg

Neat thread. Can't believe I didn't know about it.

    I'll try to contribute some...

Needed a propane tank bracket. Stupid expensive to buy; F--- that. $1.50 ratchet straps. Done and very secure!

Wanted to be seen and not killed on side of road at night when doors are open, added DOT reflective tape to factory dimpled sections of doors and one piece up high.

Also added reflectix insulation to windoors to block sun / reduce heat in shell. Works great and adds privacy.

Wanted to increase air flow in back seats for kids on very hot days. $5 USB powered fan. Done and works.

Here is my most recent fugal mod. I added pressurized water system to the truck for about $8.50. Lawn and garden sprayer from local home store. Dozens of uses while camping. Clean hands, feet, kids, doubles for kitchen duty, dishes, etc. It's truck mounted, yet loosen cam buckle and take it anywhere. It's awesome. My kids can pressurize it on their own and can shoot up to 10'. It holds 1 gallon and keeps kids entrained for about half hour.

Hell, my youngest kid will even wash the truck with it.

the knobs on my 2014 radio are so small they are hard to turn. I want to find a little rubber band or something to put on them to make it tacky or a little bigger diameter. you know those wide rubber bands that come on a bunch of broccoli at the grocery store? something like that (those are way too big). c'mon, help me out guys. any ideas? even thought about using epoxy to glue something bigger to the front of the knob but I'd rather not do anything permanent. image.jpg

    Harpolith,
Take off the knob if you can and get a bottle cap like bud light or coors and super glue it on top... I've had to do it and it works... Although when it got really hot in the summer I could feel the glue start cracking. But I had done it that previous fall.

I may end up going that route and gluing something on. Poor design. Especially when wearing gloves it's impossible. Sometimes I wonder what they're thinking coming up with stuff like this. It's not only too small of a diameter but it doesn't stick out far enough either.

Well if you're wearing gloves, then the ridges on the side should make it easier to turn.

It'd be nice to go from high volume to low volume instantly without looking down. I can do that just reaching for the knob. It Feels natural and that's where my instinct goes. A little more difficult with the steering wheel controls- I always have to look down and/or think about what I'm doing. Not a big deal. I'm just so used to going for the knob after 40 years.

try to see if a 12 gauge or 20 gauge shotgun shell will wedge onto there. The brass part may fit, and the ring around the edge would give you a larger diameter. something unique.

you know, the brass from a 410 might be a really close fit.
