    Hey
I have a '04 Tacoma TRD dbl cab, bought it new in August of '04 and just turned 100K. Looking to finally do some upgrades to suspension, tires & wheels, exhaust and intake. Looking for suggestions and guidance on a small 2" to 3" lift, bigger wheels and tires and some slight performance increases from the exhaust and intake mods. Please feel free to recommend a complete lift that isn't too expensive , I do not do serious wheeling where I live. (southeastern CT)

    Welcome man.

5100s are a good budget lift, a nice Old Man Emu (OME) setup would be a better performer for a little more cash. Above that, the sky is the limit with adjustable coilovers of various flavors. What's your budget? Mostly on road, off road? What kind of off roading do you?

Chances are an OME system will suit your needs pretty good, for a reasonable price.

Budget is probably under $500 for suspension, mostly on road, when off road it would be mild trail riding. I live in eastern CT so there isn't anything too extreme here that I know of. The OME stuff looks great but seems to be double my planned budget. Also need a cold air intake and free flow exhaust suggestions. I currently have BF Goodrich All Terrains KO 265/75/16R on it and want to go up a size or so.

5100s all around and an AAL (I'd go progressive) is within budget.

Thanks James, could you post a link to what you mean by 5100's? I think it's Bilstein shocks? and AAL is "add-a-leaf"? Sorry, been out of wheeling for about 15 years and things have changed I guess, lol.

This would be the ideal setup for your budget. Maybe squeeze in a set of OME coils up front for a better ride. Would also be a good idea to take a look at your Sway Bar Bushings and Steering Rack Bushings. They may be in need of replacement.

Thanks guys. Dan, I may contact you for a run down on what I'd need and to compile a parts list soon.

Do you put together a lift package? Maybe the adjustable 5100's w/ coils and the rear AAL and all needed hardware to install?

Any preferences on intakes and exhaust systems?
