I noticed that when my truck was locked the other day and the windows were down I could not get my truck to unlock by reaching in the window and pressing the unlock key. I do have an alarm installed in my truck but it is mainly for break-ins and not connected as far as I know to the lock/unlock function.

If you want to make this change using an iOS device such as iPhone or iPod Touch, you need two things:

    1. Wi-Fi OBD-II interface (not Bluetooth).
    2. Telnet app to connect to the interface.

I used a Wi-Fi ELM327 (eBay for $16 and change & free shipping). You can later use this device for OBD-II apps like Dashcommand, Engine Link, etc. And for the telnet app I used eTelnet (free) from iTunes, nice and simple.

    1. Plug the ELM327 into the OBD-II port.
    2. On your iOS device, in the Settings connect to the ELM327’s Wi-Fi network.
    3. Once connected to the ELM327, click the small blue arrow to go to the advanced settings for it and set the IP Address to Static. Configure the IP address to 192.168.0.123 and the Subnet Mask to 255.255.255.0. Then go back and exit the settings.
    4. Start your vehicle. The OBD-II port was providing power to the ELM327 but in some cases you will not be able to retrieve any data if the vehicle is not started.
    5. Open the eTelnet app and type in 192.168.0.10 for the Server and 35000 for the port and hit Connect.
    6. To verify your connection type in AT I (that’s AT <space> and the letter I for info) and hit Send. You should get back something like ELM327 v1.5
    7. Follow previous instructions in this thread.
    8. Type in exit to quit eTelnet.

I did this on my ’14 Taco using an iPhone 5s.

This worked like a charm on my '13 DCSB TRD. Pretty damn nice not having my truck yell at me anymore.

Has anybody used the android method successfully on a 2015? Just tried it on mine and the seatbelt chime is still active. When I sent the 3ba700 command it only returned one line, 7F 3B 12.

Did you follow all of the OP's instructions before entering the 3ba700 command? The most important is setting the header with this command: at sh 7c0

And please take a look at CAST71's post in this thread, he used an android.

Under each seat there are a few plugs coming from wiring harnesh into the seat. The one with 2 prongs, I unhooked on each front seat. No more flashing lights or bells and whistles.

behind the rear seat hi-lift mount bracket, easy-out crossbed toolbox brackets, sliders, ATO plate rear bumper, hood/bed lighting, always-on 12v outlets, dashcam, Viper 5806V w/ GPS
I did this too for just my front seat but started getting an SRS warning on my dash. I'm not sure how the system deals with a "sensor failure" like that and I couldn't find any really solid info so I plugged it back in. Does it assume the seat belt is plugged in and deploy when you need it to? Does it disarm the whole thing because it senses a problem and can't trust its readings? Does any of this affect the functionality of the passenger airbag?

None of those are questions that I want to test out in a highway collision with my wife in the passenger seat so I just deal with the damn beeping now.

I followed the original post on my 2015, the really annoying chime is disabled but the startup chime is still audible. Any thoughts?

Why not buy the cloned Techstream software and and cable and you can do the seat warning and loads of other things. I paid only $25 for the software and cable and it works on my windows 10 laptop.

I don't believe the startup chime can be disabled,(via tech stream or ELM) but mine stops after a few sec (2015 Sport). The warning lamp continues to flash though

You can buy on eBay a knock off techstream cable with software for $20. Turns any windows xp laptop into factory techstream. Turned driver and passenger off on my 15. Plus does all kinds of factory stuff like key programming and a lot of config. On all Toyota Lexus vehicles. Took a month to get though.
