like most people I had a crazy 4th weekend and ended up missing my Tacoma got it stuck and it sat for about 6 hrs cab deep in mud but after I got it out and started driving home I noticed a dramatic loss in power and the exhaust sounds different and thru a check engine light so I had it looked at and it said it's got a misfire on cylinders #1 #3 and #5 I'm gonna start by unplugging everything cleaning all connections and pluging it back in. But any other help would be appreciated

you got water in the intake i bet. Or you overheated the engine and now have a head gasket leak. Is it smoking out the exhaust?

No mud in exhaust and didn't over heat I talked to some well knowledged local mechanics and said to check my cams on there timing, said I could of easily jumped a tooth on the one side which would explains the misfire one only one side.

no smoke and no water in oil or oil in cooling system. Thinking the cam may have jumped a tooth.
