$16 Nanoskin (AS-019) AutoScrub Fine Grade Sponge

Autoscrub fine grade sponge .... (came in the mail today). Looking forward to trying it out.
Was looking at the Nanoskin site and checking out their other products.
Was wondering if anyone else has used their stuff and what recommendations you have based on your experience.

I have been using the Nanoskin Autoscrub sponge for a couple of years on both my vehicles with excellent results. To me it is much easier to use then clay and you get so many more uses out of the sponge than you would with traditional clay. Another benefit is that if you drop it on the ground you can just rinse it out without any worries where as clay you might have to throw it away. I highly recommend buying the Nanoskin lube that is recommended - it works better than any detail spray that I have used in the past.

 

Yeah, just used the AutoScrub sponge on two spots yesterday. It did a great job.
Have you tried their Shock yet?

 

I've tried many clay substitutes over the years (speedy prep towel, nanoskin mitt, the item shown in this thread, opti-clay towel etc)

It all really depends on the paint. They all work (as in they remove surface contamination like they are intended). However, on sensitive paints they will marr the paint. Sometimes badly. More noticeable on dark colored base coats. I've seen it a number of times that now as a strict rule unless client is paying for some type of paint correction work, no clay substitutes. We use the real stuff (usually clay magic blue). Otherwise the decon potentially can leave a mess.

To be clear, these are great products and time savers in many cases but use with caution. Try a small area first, dry, and inspect in direct sun before going forward with the entire vehicle

Thank you! I've been kicking around the idea of a clay substitute but I think I will stick to the trusty clay bar.

 

yep my only fear of clay subs are marring...even tho i have white, i still hate them swirls lol

 

So I have never used clay before. However I have been looking into the Nano skin products just so that I could save some time doing this my first time. I have a 2013 super white that has not been waxed yet. Any suggestions on how to proceed?

Nanoskin is just one product in a sea of many different products (and techniques).
