Take the front brakes apart and take a wire brush to the ridge on the calipers that the pads ride on (clean the contact point on the pads, too). If it goes away when you step on the brakes, you may have a pad that's sticking and not retracting all the way and is touching the rotor just enough to squeal. Also make sure the dust shield isn't rubbing on the rotor, because that'll make a squealing noise too.

    That's where I'd start

My friend just had the same thing on his highlander. I thought wheel bearing initialy. Couldn't see anything wrong, did old school shake the wheel check and it seemed fine. Pulled the brake pads and caliper slide pins, cleaned everything up, and that solved it. Not sure exactly what happened but just cleaning up the pad backing plates and caliper slides fixed it. Nice simple, easy, and free fix.

Thanks! I've done the brakes on the bike, are they similar with a car?

    The concept is similar...
The layout is a bit different, but it's close enough that you should be able to figure it out in short order.

Edit: And if you can't, you can always just Alex it and hit it with a BFH a few times and see if that fixes it.

Not sure never done then on a bike. But you just take the wheel off, unscrew the caliper slide pins, pull them out and then pull the pads. Really easy and quick

Not really but not real hard either.
The other thing to check is to see if your car uses shims or the brake pad grease. Could just be that

X2 but watch a YouTube video for your particular car. My wife's Honda requires a tool to push the caliper back so you can reinstall the pads. I jerry rigged something because I didn't have that special tool and it worked fine. Sounds like either brakes or a wheel bearing from what you described.

I'll work on it tomorrow then

Probably going to ask 12900. It's only got window tint. Has factory nav and xm. Has 120k but I've had people ask if it was new

I'm camping in Maryland this weekend and learned a lot of valuable lessons about driving with a camper. Apparently, I'm not allowed on certain roadways so I got to explore a few cities with impromptu detours. I also learned that my bank is worse than big brother because the second I tried to buy anything out of state, they locked all my accounts, for my safety of course. Took me an hour at Walmart on the phone with those bums to convince them I am who I say I am and to turn my cards back on! On a good note, it's really nice down here, temp and humidity broke last night so it's really nice this morning!

It was an adventure, live and learn. I got lucky because someone told me I wasn't suppose to be on that particular road before a trooper caught me. I need to get an update for my Garmin for the trailer so it doesn't take me in those routes when towing.
How'd you guess that one? They want me to tell them every time I leave, what states I'll be traveling in, etc. Looks like I'll be going back to cash when traveling!

Watch the Parkway(rte.15) in Ct. Seen everything from big rigs to campers and boats, esp. in the Summer months. Low bridges aren't RV and big truck friendly.
    Moneymaker for the cops.

That's exactly where I was. Would have been nice if there was a sign or something. Someone at a rest stop told me so I got off and made my way down to 95. Rather hear it from a local than a trooper! Fortunately, I only have a pop up so I was never at risk for the bridges, some of them are pretty low!

Sounds like the same place I had a Cop pull behind me and get on the bullhorn telling me to "get off the road no trailers are allowed". I never saw any signs either. I was like :notsure:
