hey buddy idk if using goof off is a good idea cuz it can make the paint bubble and usually removes all the paint with only a little wipe btw

I agree with the people that say it needs sanding and buffing and all that but I gotta say I like the flat black look. As far as function goes I dont know but good job!

How does this hold up to usage? I was going to buy the niteshades and the guy said that they sometimes don't last that long

I'm seeing a lot of questions on here about wet sanding and clear coat. I'm no pro by any means but I've used vht night shades on almost a dozen vehicles now, both black and red shades. First of all for the folks asking what wet sanding is, it's literally sanding with wet sand paper or sanding block. Just dunk it in water and get to 'er.
Here's what worked best for me with great results which has now lasted on other vehicles for years now with no fade or signs of wear.
I start by cleaning the lenses with a light duty degreaser. Then wet sand with 750 grit sand paper. Wipe clean and apply first coat, my first coat I do a little on the lighter side.
After 20 minutes I apply my second coat but a little heavier this time.
Between the second and third coat is when I do another wet sand after letting the spray dry completely. For this I use a sandpaper no coarser than 1200 grit. Some of the vehicles I do for other people the owners only want one more coat after this, so in that case I would lay another medium-thick coat for the 3rd and final, Let sit for half an hour and lay 2 coats of clear coat. It really depends how shiny you want it. If you want it shiny at all that is. I personally prefer I clear coat finish because to me it looks more finished and professional. I've used krylon, plastikote, Duplicolor, and other types of clear coat aerosols and have had the best luck with Duplicolor, hasn't faded or given me any grief. This is a really easy task even for people with minimal paint experience, just please take the time to pull the lights out and do it properly lol. The pics below are of my truck with 4 coats of VHT, 2 coats of clear, cause I like it a little darker. Hope this helps some of ya.

Ive used nightshades before, great product. I wet sanded, nightshaded, then clearcoated and they were in PERFECT shape after 5 years, no chipping or pealing or anything. Sold the truck and im sure theyre still good.
