How do you go about getting the factory Aux/USB that allows you to play music off a thumb drive?

OP, what year is your Tacoma?

Mine is a 2015 with premium entune. It came installed. And mine charges or processes data to the head unit, or it could go wifi I guess. I'm set up wifi and my HU is paired to my iPhone 6 plus, so my gf uses the port for charging. Good enough to charge an iPad mini while Netflix is on.

Thanks for the info. I just got off the phone with my local dealership and they have me this part number for it: 86190-02010 Adapter Assembly Stereo #1
The parts guys was uncertain which oem stereos it's compatible with.

....but I like the rear seat access from the back of the center console. Sweet.

How does someone get all those features in a 2008 Tacoma? Would I have to upgrade my head unit?

Yes, your newer entunes have more. My friend just upgraded. I think he said something like 600 bucks for a new head unit.

 Ohhh Dang! I'm just sick of burning music to blank cd's.... I thought it I had a couple thumb drives with some music, problem solved. But, $600 is not in the budget for that!

Mine is only entune plus not premium. They sell for like 250 bucks.

    Looks really good.

I just picked up one of those cigarette chargers with a couple of USB chargers works like a charm and goes in pretty flush & if I need the cigarette charger to charge or power my pump for my camping mattress I haven't blocked the outlet.

I'm using black with yellow tracer not red one. Top left of that plug. I have it pulled out for now until I find a diagram or pin out so I know what I'm in.

A buddy of mine had a 2013 and his had the USB data plug with the aux. I test drove an '11 and a '12 and I'm pretty sure they both had them as well.

I attached this triple outlet to the back of my console for my daughter, who always rides in the back seat on family trips. I find that I prefer using this from the front seat because it hides the majority of my charging cables from view. I can't stand cables draped all around the front console. I snuck the wires up to the fuse block and tapped in to it for full time power.

I just noticed that I didn't cut off the end of the zip tie when I was done...

Ahhh i got it! i figured yours was newer. I thought it could be easily done and cheap. I'm upgrading to an aftermarket double din with all the features i need. (mostly Bluethooth) but but that whole set up looks dope!

Just confirmed it is not that fuse.

I pulled all fuses one by one from both fuse boxes and couldn't make the charger turn off. Unless I skipped one. Which I doubt.

Does anyone know for sure what this wire is going to coming from? It is the top left black with yellow stripe. My red wire from charger was tapped in here but not until I know for sure will I make it permanant.

Thanks OP. I ordered the dual USB. I am hoping to be able to do the install without having to take the whole dash apart.

Any write up on this for an amateur like myself? This could be very useful for the constantly connected kids sitting in the back! Thanks!
