Depends what you consider WAAYY North Scottsdale. This is off of Scottsdale Rd between Thompson peak and Greyhawk to be exact.

 

To me that's way N scottsdale.

That's far north of me but not too bad at all. I didn't think it would be so close to the 101. Is that private property, does anyone care if you drive around a little on it?

It is state trust land, I drive back there all the time. It is the stupid HS idiots that go back there and throw desert parties and trash the crap out of it. The only time I was ever stopped back there was when the cops were doing a raid on a party and I just happened to be coming in the back way with some friends. But I had a state trust land pass just by coincidence from another trip. So they couldn't do anything about it.

 

Kids are seriously dumb enough to throw parties there?! Woow they probably get busted within like an hour of going out there.

 

Yes, I have seen super Dumb like nobodys business. I learned at a young age why lions sometimes eat their own young....I wonder how these people live life being so dumb.

Hard to tell for sure from the picture but that looks like what we used to call "the waterhole". Used to ride bikes and offroad out there all the time back in the day but the city closed it due to dust concerns

 

You are correct, that is the "waterhole" people still go out there all the time.

You got it, that's very close to the waterhole! Back in the early 90s that was the desert party spot. There was nothing for miles and no 101 freeway. The original rawhide was up there as well.

Thats where we tested the original race truck for the first time, theres some really big nasty whoops and wash outs out there but despite what you are saying it is now 100% illegal to be out there. Closed completely to vehicular traffic and its very clearly marked, huge fines if youre caught. not that "people" dont still go out there but be cautious.

 

Anyone know a shop in Flagstaff that can refill nitrogen shocks?
