How Long Did Your Front Brake Pads Last?

I have an '09 Taco Access 2.7 approaching 40k miles. I know that there are lots of variables but I am curious how long others got from their first set of brake pads.

Also, being a senior I hate working on stuff myself anymore. What should I expect to get stuck by the Toyota dealer for front brakes?

 

I'm just under 90,000 miles on my 2011 prerunner and they're starting to squeak now.

 

At under 40k doing less than 6k per year at age 65 sounds like I will start squeaking before my fronts pads do.

 

Yeah, my V6 4x4 made it to around 95k before the brake change. Just get the fluid flushed, you should be good for awhile.

 

I got about 65-70k if I remember right out of mine.

 

I have 85k on my 08 2.7 prerunner & still on original front pads.

 

Exactly 60,000 miles, probably couldn't have gone a thousand more miles.

 

08 DCLB 4x4 with 82k. Started hearing the sensor about 1000 miles ago. Haven't had the time to inspect yet. I do tow heavy loads quite a bit mostly short distances so surprised they lasted this long.

 

These seem to lasting much longer than I expected. Good news.

 

Just did the first brake service at 143,000 miles on original pads and rotors on my 2005. Replaced with OEM Toyota parts, I got ten years outta the first set with no issues.

My '94 T100 (auto trans) had 130k miles when I sold it. The brake pads were still in great shape-probably less than half worn. Most of the miles were mountain highway and back country driving.

 

Depends on how much gear and any modifications (if any) done to the truck. Something loaded with armor, shell, lift kit, bigger tires and all that will get less in the range of 40-50K miles while a bone stock Taco can go anywhere up to 90K+ miles. This is assuming that you don't drive the Taco like you stole it.

 

Everything is stock. And I am an old retired geezer and drive like one.

 

Around 60K, i'd say the pads have about 60% life left.

 

One less thing to have to deal with.

I replaced a toilet in my house last week. No fun. And they seem to be twice as heavy as the last one I changed 20 years ago. Did I mention that I hate working on stuff anymore?

 

70,000 still had about 1/4 pad left.

 

Ive got almost 72k miles on the OEM pads and rotors. I broke down and ordered new OEM pads and rotors last week.

 

Wakey Wakey! Just replaced the OEM tires at 45k. Weren't done but I don't want to go through the winter with them. My front pad are worn done 90%. Going to replace them in a couple of weeks. Didn't get nearly what some folks are getting. And I'm an old geezer too and drive like one. A little disapointed the pads didn't last longer.

 

I'm at 109,000+ on the OEM pads...no issues yes.
