This is what my local shop quoted to do it. They said they have done it to numerous Tacomas and Tundras so they are familiar with the work. I am not rubbing severe but need to recess the mount a bit. Does $500 sound like a fair price. This would be the cost for both sides plus undercoating the area they modify. I'm trying to get this done ASAP before a trip to my ranch for hunting season in Texas.

Depends on the quality of the work the place turns out. Mine were chopped and reinforced with 1/4" plate steel. A clean job obviously takes longer and the attention to detail makes for a more aesthetically pleasing mod versus something that's just functional.

Figure 4 to 6 hours for the full job from start to finish.

$500 seems like a fair price to me. Like others have said, you will usually get what you pay for. Although, for $500 I would want the job to be perfect.

I'm running 9" wide wheels and paid $440 incl. tax to have mine done. I felt like I was getting raped because at first they said $250 but would have to double check. I dropped off the truck and they called me later on and said $720 ($45/hour x 8 hours per side). I got PISSED and talked them down to $440 after telling them it was a 4-6 hour job. After the drama it was all well worth the coin as there aren't many places in my small town I trusted to do the job.
